I'm not sure why. For its intended use, where is it deficient? I note that Fuji has just released a competitor that doesn't seem to be any more advanced.

Also, the macro converter lens makes it more versatile, and also gives that option to GR owners. I'm not sure if that would require a firmware update. This looks like a good move to me, but I still like the classic black look best.

I'm not talking new sensor and new cpu, though it would be nice. I'm talking about dust problem, lack of comfortable viewfinder; optical or better screen that tilts, battery life should be improved to. As I said befor GR needs monochrome model to stand above competition.

And a nice close-up gadget. They should have made the GR letters black though. There is an OVF for the GR, so if you need one you can get one.

I see what you mean. These would be nice improvements, but I think Ricoh would be hesitant to add things that would add bulk to the design, like an EVF or a tilt screen. I wonder why you don't see any advanced compact cameras that are weather sealed? They all seem to lack sealing unless they go completely to the other extreme and are designed to be completely submersible. It would be nice to have a GR that Ricoh would vouch for being moisture and dust sealed.

It already did that. This is the GRII. BTW, looking forward to GR8

How many is 3200 in terms of percent of the total GRII's made?

Not dust/water proof, just make GR so it would not pump dust on a sensor with a collapseble lens.

I've always thought the GR was a sweet piece of kit...if it were 35mm equivalent, I would be all over that guy

It would be nice if they offered a 35mm conversion lens to complement the macro. It used to be common to offer kits that held 2 or 3 conversion lenses. Properly designed, the immage quality can be quite good.
