But I see what Pentax is up to now, and my have they been clever.

and end up with this:

Pentax K5IIs - Sigma 180mm f/3.5 APO EX - ISO 80 f/11 flash sync at 1/500th - the shadow is being cast by the second shutter curtain.

with a long duration strobe at higher power levels you actually get a proper exposure

Why would they switch to different brand then? Especially when the newest Milbeaut came out right in time?

We may as well stop talking about what isn't certain for another 36 hours. After that, the truth will be known to all, and the people who've been shooting with the bl**** thing will be free to tell what they know.

all these discussion... no one mad at they name it K-1?

so confusing (with K-5, K-3, ...how are they going to name future APSC flagship?), a standout name like P645D, P645Z, and ... for FF, P135 sound awesome. :P

I could link that Frankie Goes to Hollywood music video but it would make this thread NSFW

Assuming the 36mp rumor is close, I'm hoping for 2 stops less noise than the K-5 and even better dynamic range. Similar pixel density (no noise difference), double the sensor area (1 stop), newer tech (maybe another stop). I've probably said that before but all FF threads go in circles.

Because the new milbeaut doesn't seem to be aimed at dslr much, more at action and 360 video. But we'll know soon enough.

Not mad even if the rumored name holds. Everyone here knows better, but I wonder if many non-Pentaxians will find K-01 reviews when searching for K-1 and not realize the difference. At least it's better than *ist. (Nikon and Canon naming isn't any better)

Back in the film days, the K series was followed by the M series. MX-D, ME-D, anyone?

Maybe I'm nuts but I'd swear I've seen full-frontal pictures of the final product. I assume the prominent K-1 is real.

All processors are made by Fujitsu for Sigma, Nikon, Leica, Pentax.

Maybe.

DIGIC is based on Texas Instruments OMAP (Open Multimedia Applications Platform) - I found such info.
The Digic sensors are made by UMC http://www.umc.com/english/class_300/index.asp, and designed by Texas Instruments

https://chipworks.secure.force.com/catalog/ProductDetails?sku=CAN-CH4-6501&v...ext=digic%205+

Sigma, Pentax, Nikon and Leica are Fujitsu.

BUT...Ricoh has own processors for GR and GXR cameras.

DIGIC is Fujitsu too.
As posted above Fujitsu no longer makes the image processors the business was spun off into a company named Socionext. It is still part of the Panasonic-Fujitsu collaboration.
