Thats about 1 second per raw image. For thetered shooting in studio that should be sufficient.

For transfering all the images from the card, thats slow, but then again, its possible to do that with a card reader or wifi. Wifi for convenience and card reader for maximum speed.
Yeah but always get bored waiting for the pics to import leaving my camera on usb draining the battery and I still don't need a dc input.

I've switched to Nikon three years ago. Sold Pentax cameras, flashes, accessories. However I kept three FA limiters. Was waiting for Pentax FF.

But these specs are disappointing. 36 Megapixels and only 4.4 fps Way too much megapixels and way too slow.

My three FA limiteds will be listed in marketplace soon...

Looks like the K-1 supports the same wired tethering as the 645Z, via the PENTAX Image Transmitter 2 tethering software. Good news! Bad news: $199.

I wonder if the free Pentax 645Z Lightroom tethering plug-in will also work for the K-1?

Well then, it's a good thing we have the affiliate site, NIKON FORUMS, for you to join (if you haven't already). Do have fun, stop back and see us sometime. I am sure your FA limiteds will find a good home.

I saw "Flash Sync Speed" setting in Custom Menu... Hopefully they allow to send the regular sync signal above sync speed with this...

If its not the camera for you, that is too bad. The initial professional reviews at Popular Photography and DPReview are much more positive than I had expected. No one camera is going to make everyone happy. In my case, I don't have the $$$$, but that is OK; I came back to Pentax (from Canon) because of reliability reasons, and so far I am perfectly glad to have a seat here in the less-expensive seats.

Excacly my thoughts. Good to see that it does tethering. Wireless to the desktop would have been ideal to ditch that tripwire. Crossing fingers for the lightroom plugin.

I think the price reflects the dated specifications. The camera is a good value. Its basically a D800 (minus the better AF) for $1,800. That is a pretty good deal. My question is, why did it take so many years to make a 5 year old camera?
