Maybe I'm heavily biased in this question, but If I had to choose between using a dslr as a 2-in-1 device or a camcorder as a 2-in-1 device, I would hands down choose the dslr in 11 of 10 cases, so I feel the other way around argument is not comparable at all.
Null hypothesis. There is no relationship benefit to any video capability in a dSLR.

I have never been a fan of 2-in-1 devices; I do not like scanner/printer combinations, for example. If both video and stills are important, then I firmly believe the user should buy one specialized device for each. Pentax should do what they do best, and leave the fancy alternatives to those who have the resources to develop multiple product lines.
Good point. I recently bought a printer and a separate scanner and a few days ago I put my old printer, scanner, copyer for sale. I got no responses yet so I might give it away for free.

I guess that is true, video is not my strong side. I just use it occasionally since its built in, I have it with me, and my low quality camcorder have been in a drawer for the last couple of years.

Agreed, I much prefer 100-in-1 devices (AKA smartphones)

actually, you probably could use a K-1 to do this.
For those who want a camera to drive nails:

(it even comes with a phone).

I actually quite like their phones. Wouldn't attempt to drive nails with my Xperia Z3 Compact, though...

What is the size of PEF in K-1?

Rather strange info at official site
8GB card:
[RAW] 51M(7360×4912):101枚(PEF)
?? / PENTAX K-1 / ??????? / ?? | RICOH IMAGING

Manufacturers are always pessimistic on SD capacity. They always assume you will only take picture where the lowless compression will struggle and you'll get always the biggest size.

My K3, 24MP, 14bit is giving 30MB on average. That mean 45MB on average for 36MP 14 bit, and so depending of the formating a alike, I would expect arround 160 Raws.

Anyway, if one has 1800$ camera, he can likely invest into 2 64GB SD cards or 4 32GB SD cards as to have an autonomy of something like 2500 raws. Going for a good brand would cost between 50-100$ for the bunch depending of how fast you want the cards to be. Not bad.

As for storage, 2TB is less than 100$, and that's more than forty thousand raws

A zoom lens does just one function, but how it does that one function is controlled by the input parameter focal-length.
