Is it just me, or does the framerate / buffer make you want to go, "Meh" ??

What do you photograph that changes more than four times per second?? I sometimes photograph trains going 50 mph, and I find that my K-30 set at the lower burst rate (3 fps) is more than enough to get the picture I want (assuming I remember to set it to burst at all).

Photographing multiple shots of cars doing 180 mph? aircraft pushing 700+ mph (capturing the vapor cone)? water drops? hummingbirds? There are reasons for higher than 3 fps burst..

You're forgetting all the spray n'pray Pros that need this obvious facility. Didn't you get the memo about just been able to point your camera in the general direction of the subject and get at least 50 perfect shots in under a minute?

Am I the only one how thinks 6.5 FPS in APS-C Mode (16MP) with the next generation processor is strange, if compared to the older processor in the K3-II (24MP) delivering 8.3 FPS?
Maybe the sensor readout is too slow?
Anyways I just hope the shutter is damped and maybe there is an electronic shutter option to tame the 36MP.
I read that the nikon version (esp. D800) had problems because the shutter induced to much shake, probably pentax in body shake reduction will help with this matter too.

Maybe they mean the struts the articulating screen is supported on. They look stainless steel.

That makes sense. And SS would be better for something exposed to the elements.

Of course all of this is a result of having the KX CLA'ed.

that's a (little) disappointment there... with that 67 like huge hump, I expect mind blowing/class leading huge VF.

Here's a decent educational piece I found explaining the balancing act that has to occur when designing optical viewfinders: https://luminous-landscape.com/understanding-viewfinders/. I suspect that 0.7x magnification is pretty much the full frame dslr "sweet spot" for having a properly bright viewfinder for manual focusing and also to leaving enough area for displaying camera control parameters (aperture, shutter speed, iso, etc.).

I looked it up. The steel seems to be the inner plate where shutter and sensor array are mounted on.

I don't know if this is a fair comparison, but here are the specs on the new Canikon offerings (available March / April):

I have not seen a price estimate for the K-1, but I do think it will not nearly be as pricey as the competition.
