this is funny,

- Continuous shooting 4.4 frames / sec (full size). 6.5 frames / sec. (APS-C)
- Buffer 70 shots JPEG, 17 shots RAW (when full-size 4.4 frames / sec.)

in buffer there is JPEG, but 17 shots raw, and at continuous shooting...6.5/ sec aps-c...not JPEG?
Just a thought.
If you need fast burst ,why not JPEGs anyway. For me, I rarely go fast bursts with my K-3. SO not a biggie anyway.
lot's of things to questions on that translate, but all in all, looks nice.

I don't know if this is a fair comparison, but here are the specs on the new Canikon offerings (available March / April):
Canon EOS-1D X Mark II Release Date, Price and Specs - CNET

I have not seen a price estimate for the K-1, but I do think it will not nearly be as pricey as the competition.
estimate is around 2000€, for K-1.

If this is the true spec sheet it kind of helps settle my decision to skip the FF and go with a 645z next year instead. Don't get me wrong, there are some nice specs that I'm sure for many will be awesome, but being a D810 owner I don't see anything here for my shooting style that gets me wanting to pony up aside from the fact I can use my FA Limited glass.

*cue belly aching*

Sync speed is still "too" low, but workable enough. The difference between 1/200 and 1/250 is negligible. But I'm still hoping for a full flash system overhaul, and support from third parties like Elinchrome and Profoto to make a HSS compatible trigger for Pentax. Priolite just doesn't have the market penetration, especially in Canada, to make it a suitable solution.

AF points are still too few and I'm guessing a similar array to whats on the K3 but improved for accuracy. Very disappointing.

Those are the two major points for me.

But on the flip side:

a new version of the D810 sensor will be awesome, can't wait to see what Pentax pulls out of it. That sensor is already just an incredible piece of tech.

faster fps than the D810 which is cool too for those that use it. I'm wondering how fast the buffer will be. Was hoping for UHS-II, as that would drastically help the transfer rates, especially with those huge files. I have a UHS-II card for my X-T1 and I'm blown away at the speeds. *sorry read that wrong... fps is actually slower than the D810*

The 750 shots from the same old same old power source is pretty impressive. Especially considering the on board GPS, WIFI, and how much power that processor probably needs to process the 36mp files. *I don't think the suspicion that the processor is the same as the K3 is accurate due to the power efficiency and the fps*

GPS and WiFi built in is awesome. Really I love this. If Pentax can develop an app that has the stability and reliability of the Fuji app it will be an amazing feature to have. Add a wifi tethering ability and...well that would be amazing!

If this is a new version of the D810 sensor, how come it's only iso 100 for a floor and not the 64 that the D810 has?

To be honest, so far it's kind of what I expected. I'm not surprised and I'm not disappointed... but I'm not excited either. Time to focus on the 645z plan now full force.

It is also ISO 204,800 instead of the 51,200 the D810 has (expanded, Native 25,600) So maybe Sony have given Pentax the coming D900 or D820 sensor.

whats the point? lol what does 204,800 look like? okay, maybe 51,200 becomes somewhat usable if your not doing prints... and I can see that being an advantage for event photography. Will have to see how the noise is on this bad boy

Built-in Wi-FI means tether-less remote capture correct? Hope it will be better than FLUCARD...
May be I should sell my K3 and wait for long awaited K1 :-)

oh I don't doubt it.

It's going to have some amazing things for me to personally want to get off my wallet and postpone 645z ownership.

Hi Paul

The Canon will be around R100000 around here, the Pentax K-1 about the same as the D750 R39000. Not really something to compare.

From your posts, what you want to do you're prob. making the right decision - but you'll be tempted.

This is CIPA measurements. The OnBoard-Flash is used in 50% of the shots. That is why K-3 is so much less then K-3ii. No flash, no influence on the result in measurements. The wifi and GPS are not used in this test.

lol lol okay sure.

I threw DXO out the window when they wouldn't review and test Fuji. That X-Pro 2 sensor (and the sensor in the X-T1) are unbelievable. I think they are scared...

oh I know I'll be tempted! I'm already tempted because I would LOVE to use my FA glass on a FF sensor!

Yes, not complete specs yet. Just tried to say that what a fuss, lot to like and all of that. But this seems to be a big problem, even if it is not confirmed yet. Well. That's internet.
