Yes! So the screen swings up high enough. This is neat.

?? Illuminate back of monitor?

There is lots here to like. The details will matter such as how good the IQ actually is, and how well they implemented the AF. If video has a usable hdmi output and mechanical shake reduction it would be an improvement. Also how the wifi actually works, whether it allows access to all the shooting modes, and has a usable file transfer system.

Control panel customization. Nice.

Pixel Shift Resolution and HDR hand held thanks to the superior performance of the new SR system is certainly one of the goodies promised by kenspo. As are the illumination settings (LCD panel, backside controls, lens mount, card slot/connector).

Automatic detection of panning by the SR system would be another one.

Automatic horizon correction might be one (it works up to 1 degree with SR on and up to 2 degrees with SR off).

I will add (not in the list above) the viewfinder overlay with AF points, grid display, electronic level, AF frame, spot metering frame and crop.

Among the cons: the beast is heavier than expected (1,010g with battery and card).

USB 2.0 is confirmed but I am indifferent on this.

Price will be K-1's best asset: €1,999 / $1,799.

Silly me... the GPS (included, obviously) is enough for the astrotracer, there is no need for an 'astrotracer module'

It's to early in the morning here...

if these are the complete specs, then the one thing that Pentax promised would be unique about the K-1 is... the tilting screen? Good as that is, i was hoping it would be a gigantic view finder :-/

I've waited this long - another two months will be OK.

Back in the film days, the K series was followed by the M series. MX-D, ME-D, anyone?
They already tried the MZ-D
