It really looks like collective hysteria over here. Are you going crazy with this Pentax full frame ?
Since you didn't use "Reply to Thread", I don't know to whom this was addressed ... but I'll answer anyway. Personally, I'm juggling two announcements; in addition to news from Pentax, in 2-1/2 hours the college where my wife is an administrator (and I teach part-time) will be announcing whom their new president will be.

Just kidding, no about anyone in particular :-) I just saw that the News & rumors threads used to have 20 or 30 members viewing it, this number jumped to more than 600.

Pentaxforums is doomed! Overrun by FF excitement.

one of the key things I was hoping for was ISO 50 like the D800. Ah well...

I am naive about this, but how much of a difference would ISO 50 make?

ISO 100-204,800 is the standard range. There might well yet be an expanded range.

The difference between having, or not having to find another subject to complain about?

very useful for both macro with flash and long-exposure landscapes. IMHO, supporting ISO 50 is a key feature of any pro camera.
With any luck they might be able to enable this via a future firmware update!

Or being able to take a shot at f/1.2, 1/8000s at mid day at a country based on the equator. You might still have some clipping though so start screaming for ISO32

I'm sorry, but haven't you seen the sun-in-a-frame icon on the 8-way controller? It's for dialing the sun down.

Or eliminating the need for an ND filter to make moving water look silky. Heck. The first roll of film I put through my first Pentax was original Kodachrome, ASA/ISO 10. When the improved Kodachrome at ISO 25 came out it was "high speed," but it lost some of the "character" of the original (according to the critics).

Price TBA, though.

At thecamerastore.com they have '36.4 MP' as a search option under Pentax, but if you click on it to filter to only that resolution - no cameras

Cameras

(EDIT: And they have a price category for $1981 - $2500, also empty. Hmm....)

Michael, you don't have ISO50 , you have ISO25, because pixel shift = 4 stacked frames (+time to shift the sensor... I have no idea how long it take to shift the sensor, perhaps someone could take 10 or 20 pixel shifted frame to calculate how long it takes to shift the sensor).

Or without pixel shift, instead of taking one long exposure shot of lets say 20 seconds, taking multiple shorter shots at higher ISO (lets say 10 shots at 2 seconds) and averaging them will give you the same result, as averaging reduces noise just like lower ISO does. Actually this is in some sense preferable to using an ND filter for silky water shots, as averaging multiple shots reduces noise, but ND filters do not.

I do not know how much more inconvenient it is, I have no clue if this type of averaging can be done in-camera. Its a lot easier to program than HDR, but I have not tried to find this function.
