Wow, can only hope the Australian pricing is just as aggressive - or alternatively that there is a major improvement in the exchange rate by April!

Seems at odds with what Kenspo has posted.....

haha not yet.. not yet... but, if it is the real price.. and if the camera comes with all the spects that have been "leaked" .. is a pretty good damn deal..

Kenspo posted that the price could be eventually 2000 euros.. the thing is that most of the time the prices at the US are lower than Europe so mmmm this price could be true after all.. we'll find out soon

I think the prices in $$$ are without included taxes. So it's more or less the same then in comparison to EU prices (but most likely a bit less)

Euro and dollar had been quite close but now dollar = .90 euro.

So $1799usd is 1999 euro. Hmm that fits amazingly close.....................

Not sure how tax affects this. In USA prices have no tax. Not sure in Europe..

Indeed, a bit less: with current exchange rates, $1,799 is €1,933 when one adds 20% VAT on top of the European price.

But the USD has been weaker recently and these prices were not decided overnight.

I was thinking $3k CAD, but it might be closer to $2500. Nice.

At this price the specs make sense. A very capable body with nice IQ, but not a bunch of very expensive new tech.

Are there a few other goodies to find yet?

Copying from the other thread:

Pixel Shift Resolution and HDR hand held thanks to the superior performance of the new SR system is certainly one of the goodies promised by kenspo. As are the illumination settings (LCD panel, backside controls, lens mount, card slot/connector).

Automatic detection of panning by the SR system would be another one.

Automatic horizon correction might be one (it works up to 1 degree with SR on and up to 2 degrees with SR off).

I will add (not in the list above) the viewfinder overlay with AF points, grid display, electronic level, AF frame, spot metering frame and crop.

Among the cons: the beast is heavier than expected (1,010g with battery and card).

USB 2.0 is confirmed but I am indifferent on this.

These goodies aren't confirmed yet, though. So I will wait until the official takeoff before rejoicing.
