What is with that lcd screen? does it come off completely or something? Why does it have a carriage underneath it?

Is there any Exif in these images? Don't know how to see them on my tablet.

That would actually be a very cool feature, especially if it can transmit video to the screen wirelessly.
have either of you thought about the power requirements that would need to be met for such a thing to be possible?

To keep it securely attached to the camera body presumably.

The top LCD is quite small.

One of the early pictures showed it deployed at an angle; it is supported by several struts. The discussion following that picture led to several guesses as to why they chose that unorthodox design (besides the fact that Pentax likes to do things differently). My personal guess is that this provides most of the flexibility of a fully articulated screen in a smaller package and keeps the screen behind the camera at all times (instead of prominently off to the side like a camcorder).

What's the beam of light in the second picture? Death ray for eliminating unfortunate Canon or Nikon shooters?

The cool locking linkage underneath enables the screen to tilt up about 45 degrees (or something), The extra carriage on top lets it tilt up another 45 degrees, totaling 90 degrees, but only upwards.

It is 70-200. If you see the picture with water droplets you can see 70-200 marked on the lens.
