Maybe a restructure could happen. If Ricoh would outsource lens production to Tamron then they could close the Vietnam factory. Could safe money, bring new products and keep lens production quality at a high level. Maybe even sell some Pentax lenses in a Tamron coat.
Divesting some activities can be beneficial if it cost less to outsource than its costs to insource, if that does not impact the value proposition.

That kind of translate to: "Tamron is working on the Pentax camera and we will talk in the future.. " (facebook translation) ..

This is what the NikonRumors page said about the Tamron teasers:

So.. will this mean that we'll have Tamron releasing K lenses in the future?? if it is, that would be awsome to have them back.
suspect a 24 and 85 both 1,8 with the same spec...in my opinion it could be ana mazing kit 24 45 85 1,8....great quality at good price.

I guess my buying three AdaptAll lenses this week wouldn't help.

It doesn't make any sense. Ricoh is developing Pentax, not closing them down.

Roughly 30 years ago, Tamron was in the process of belatedly intertwining with the rapidly failing Bronica brand as medium format film dwindled. By quite some margin, this all happened far too late, and assuredly sapped R&D resources allowing Sigma to move well ahead.

Pentax is in better shape than Bronica was, and Tamron now is in far worse shape than 30 years ago. While something surely is up - and their cooperation would be mutually beneficial - I think a buyout seems relatively unlikely given the vast historical mistake made by Tamron. Japanese execs tend to have long memories about these things (probably a good thing).

I think he is simply referring to the 15-30 2.8 and 24-70 2.8 that Tamron worked with Pentax. I don't think we'll see any broader K mount support unless Pentax gains serious market share.

^^ Ricoh has a long history of buying failed office equipment companies that own storied brands at deeply discounted prices to acquire Goodwill and often real estate and tech / patents. Not saying that will or won't happen here, but there is precedent.

Actually I think it translates more like:

I am working at Tamron now.

Not 100% sure about this one:
Lets have a Pentax camera and lens discussion. (Maybe like lets discuss further business together or maybe more like lets share some stories (when he was working at pentax))

Redirecting production to another location, outsourcing, is still developing Pentax. That is very normal business today.

Well we already have 24-70 and 15-30 coming out of the Tamron factory. So quality isn't an issue. If they also make the 35mm, 45mm, 85mm and 180mm macro for Pentax, that would be great.

The next step......who knows.

Ron, let's talk about when Pentax is so successful they have to open another Vietnam factory instead of trying to think of imaginary ways for Pentax to wither away into nothing and disappear.

I don't really care whether Tamron starts producing Tamron branded K-mount lenses again, or whether they just produce them for Pentax in another coat. The first option would be cheaper for the consumer, the second comes with weather resistance and potentially better coatings.

The important thing is that we, as customers, get the lenses we want. Consequentially I would greatly welcome it if either more third party manufacturers start to sell K-mount lenses again, or Pentax would expand their current arrangement with Tamron to other manufacturers. Specifically thinking of the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 and a couple Sigma 'Art' lenses.
