Tamron is moving in the right way. Up market. They probably want to restructure the company in accordance with that. They won't be able to compete with cheap offerings from China (and those are coming, mostly manual now, but AF will come too).
AF is already here. Have you seen the Canon 50mm knock-off? They perform surprisingly okay-ish for peanuts.

True, but Tamron somehow also lost the race from Sigma.
Hi Ron, does your life comes to a loser one every time you're not the "first" ?

If nothing else is accomplished by this diversion, at worst the thread is disrupted and the conversation is halted.

Back to the original question then. I don't think that Tamron is coming back to k-mount.

Tamron is already back at K-mount The 18-270, 24-70 and 15-30. They probably have a deal with Ricoh. Tamron make lenses for Pentax but don't make new K-mount lenses under the Tamron Brand. Maybe they'll even do joint design efforts in future.

Personally I hope that Sigma will release some of the lenses that are not available in K-mount... 150 mm f/2.8 macro, 180mm f/2.8 macro, 120-300mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4 Art...

We don't know the whole story yet. It is entirely possible Pentax will manufacture the rumored 6 new primes in Vietnam and is conserving production capacity for them while contracting to Tamron where Tamron actually has capacity.

After all, Pentax historical design strength has always been primes.

Looks like they're releasing a new line. I can't imagine that a third-party maker would update a teaser or website just to announce lenses in a mount that constitutes a relatively small market segment. They're probably creating a new line of high-end lenses like the Sigma Art series.

Well thats for sure that they will not do a teaser just for K mount.. the question was more if will they include the K mount with this new lenses??

Impossible to tell. They might keep with their evaluation that K-mount does not offer enough demand. Or they may well have struck a deal with Ricoh and give Pentax another chance. The fact that they have been manufacturing the 15-30 f/2.8 and 24-70 f/2.8 for them, and the new line will be revealed so close to the Pentax K-1 (with loads of demand for fast, modern primes that Ricoh does not currently offer), maaay hint towards K-mount versions. I think it that would be the case, with little else to choose from in the high quality prime department, they might actually earn quite a bit of money with K-1 owners.

So it seems, but you don't have to be No. 1 to be successful.

Same here.. and lenses people know and love on other camera systems would be a plus imo.
