Nonsense. There would be armed revolution if they didn't continue or reissue the Limiteds. And corporate suicide. And stupid.

Earlier someone made ONE post and let slip the Limiteds are in production again for the first time since late 2012.

Tamron's price is 1000 USD. It's not cheaper.
We'll have to wait and see what the prices will be like over time. But the F004 costs between 450 and 500 euros here in The Netherlands. If its introduction price was 90000 Yen, then you can kind of calculate what the 85/1.8 could be priced like in the long run.

I can follow this thought. Just being D-FA lenses.

Strange answer...Really.
The idea of my post is different and simple. Such lenses are no in current FF lens line.

FA20-35/4 is not Hirakawa's lens.

It's not cheaper than FA77.

I hope we never see such Tamron under Pentax name.
But we could see new DFA85/1.4. It's more logic to have in FF lenses line - FA77/1.8 and FA85/1.4.

To produce DFA85/1.8 with price close to FA77 is marketing mistake.

True. But Sigma sells a 85 f/1.4 for Pentax. With that area covered for now, I think Pentax would be well advised in focusing on wide-angle primes.

I think it is a clever move, if Tamron will produce lenses for Pentax and brand it like pentax lenses. More sells for Tamron, a wider range of lenses for pentax. Win Win Of course the new lenses have to be WR But before the new roadmap isn't public, we just can speculate

We will see if they are currently back in production. Pentax lens available for sale - Prime, Zoom, Telephoto, Wide-angle lens DigitalRev still shows 31mm & 77mm as Discontinued. Another person who works for a large Asian retailer has also said they are only still available in North America and parts of Europe as they sell existing inventory. I can't see Ricoh putting them back into production without at least updating them to HD coatings and probably more than that.

I don't know if Ricoh has the ability to quickly update the lenses. It will be interesting to see the new road map. We will know a lot more really soon.

Indeed but Tamron prices go down quickly. Less than one year after its announcement one can buy a lens at RRP minus 30 to 40 per cent.
Exactly. 2 years after launch of current Tamron 90mm macro price was at 60% of the initial price. Two years after that it was at 40% without special discounts. I never bought it because I already bought Pentax FA 100mm macro for almost double price. When I had a chance to compared those two lenses I noticed that there is no big difference in IQ.

Well, the K-1 and D-FA*70~200/2.8 are supposed to be recently put in production, too .

It looks like overhere shops can't order either of these three lenses anymore and only some shops have one or the other in stock.

Who knows whether they can 'quickly' update them. It's more likely they've been working on updating them for quite some time now in order to have them ready for the K-1 launch.

surely they aren't going to be released with screw-drive af? and no ois? the standard these days is five-way stabilization, with the camera body cpu talking to both ibis and ois.

perhaps keep the same optics, no ois, but with modern in-lens focus motors?

the tamron 35/1.8 vc is $120 cheaper than the fa31ltd at b&h, and it's about to be released in a-mount: Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8 Di USD Lens for Sony A AFF012S-700 B&H

that lens rocks, you'd be very happy to see it in k-mount, and if they are doing it for sony, why couldn't it be done for k-mount... simpler and easier than re-engineering the fa31ltd to modern specs.
