Will go to my local dealer tomorrow and ask if I can pre-order it here to.
Not even sure since I've recently switched my go to shop because the chief in the other one laughed at all my lenses being manual (?!)

Yup, just had the SRS / WEX emails, top work on that pricing!
Yeah, I'm surprised we're getting such a good deal over here. OK, the US pricing is better still (much better - it always is!), but if you look at the UK price compared to other FF cameras, it's very attractive. Ricoh has been very smart by leaking higher pricing pre-release, so the actual price is a very pleasant surprise wherever in the world you are... Good stuff I'm still not in the market for it just yet, but I wavered just a little when I saw what good value it is

Weirdly deceptive, especially using a lens well known to be not the best, the 50 f/2.0. "that a 36MP sensor is likely to be fairly demanding on older glass, and our initial impressions of shooting with one older 50mm Pentax prime aren't wholly encouraging." If they wanted to use an el-cheapo lens, why didn't they use any of the 1.7, 1.4, 55mm 1.8? Who knows.
Because Ricoh doesn't spend as much on advertising?

Ok. 40 year old kit lenses are out. Next.

None of them. But it is a solid camera for the money.

Pixel shift on a full frame does make it a bit compelling for some.

A green ring on the lens...? Interesting.

(Oh, do I wish that the Canadian dollar hadn't taken such a hit lately.)
I know ! There's always the chance it will come back by the time I can afford this...

The red ring was a short lived experiment. Green has been back for a while now.
I missed that!

I thought you said Ricoh should price it as a high end full frame, $3000 ? Ben alors?

I can't believe Ricoh Imaging Canada's website already has been updated with K-1 info. During the Hoya era that website had cobwebs.

"The Camera Store" (Calgary) website is already taking pre-orders ($2499 CAD, pretty much straight exchange for the US price). Henry's website is so far ignoring the K-1 announcement (they have carried very little Pentax stock for the last couple of years - most Pentax items are special order).

That thing looks perfect.
But just USB 2.0 ? Really? Common Ricoh...

Compared it to K-3 II on the german ricoh website. Many specs are mostly identical.
Looking forward for first reviews

PS: All the Ricoh Websites seem to be flooded by people, hard to connect to one Good sign!

Not bad anyway, I've seen much worse in the past! $1779 at the current rate of 1.43 makes 1244. Add on the 20% VAT and you get 1492, so 107 'surcharge' and differences in import costs or taxes might explain why it's 1599 here.
