Only fixed lenses + fish eye zoom. From 5 lenses - 3 are fast fixed lenses. Good.

it seems that 85mm f1.8 tamron is coming....

I don't know if this "tamronization" of Pentax brand is good or not.

Do you mean in terms of Pentax having lenses manufactured by Tamron, or availability of Tamron lenses on Pentax mount? For the former, that's been going on for some time and the resulting lenses have been good. For the latter, any support of Pentax mount from any manufacturer is surely a good thing, no?

I mean Tamron lenses simply branded Pentax.
I can understand one or two lenses, moreover superzooms or similar, but not every new lens.
This situation recall to me the "adventure" of samsung in reflex market, with pentax re-branded material. The end is known.

California sales tax (which is not the same as a VAT) is 7.5%. Counties and cities can enact local taxes of up to 2.5%. So 10% is the highest sales tax rate in California.
I was looking at TV's in Walmart in California in 2008, and they had a 17% sales tax. Not sure whether it applied to all electronics. But it had something to do with TV's need to be recycled and not disposed of in land fill.

Tamron-built Pentax lenses are typically upgraded in build quality. Poor example, but I have the Pentax 18-270 super-zoom which is a Tamron-built lens. It's considerably more solid (and, I'd argue, better finished) than the standard Tamron 18-270 for other mounts. That aside, Tamron's newer lenses are, in any case, a real step up in terms of build quality and performance compared to its older models. I have the Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 USD in Sony A mount - it's a very, very well engineered piece of kit, and arguably one of the best 70-200's around optically.

Tokina has been manufacturing lenses for Pentax for some time. According to Wikipedia: "As of March 2009, the six lenses co-developed and released in both Tokina and Pentax versions are the AT-X Pro 12-24mm f/4.0, AT-X Pro 16-50mm f/2.8, AT-X Pro 50-135mm f/2.8, AT-X 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 fisheye, AT-X Pro 100mm /2.8 macro, and AT-X Pro 35mm f/2.8 macro. The last Tokina lens released before the collaboration was the 28-70mm f/2.8, in 2002. ".

I see no reason why Ricoh shouldn't continue to partner with companies who have significant experience and track record in producing lenses and other equipment for its cameras. This kind of collaboration happens in most industries - automotive springs immediately to mind. Some high end Jaguar cars are fitted with engines from Ford (3.0 V6 and 5.0 V8), for example.

Ricoh will be keeping close tabs on Tamron to ensure the quality and performance of its Pentax-branded products is in keeping with Pentax cameras - of that, you can be very confident indeed.

I´m very pleased with the proposed development of one fish eye zoom. This lens is very important for Pentax underwater photographers. I recomended a digital version of the old Pentax 17-28 mm f3,5-4,5, angles 180º-90º, but with a minimun focus distance lower than 30 cm for work behind a dome port in underwater photography (the old analogical zoom was a minimun focus distance of 40 cm not good for underwater photography). Thanks for this fantastic development!!!!!!!

I don't think one should pre-order an expensive high end camera if he is after optimizing what he get with his money. Electronics typically don't hold its value and quite likely you could pay half that price in 1-2 years buying used for the same product. And for 1/4th to 1/10th of the price, you could likely get a used camera that may not be FF or latest generation but would still does 90% of what the K1 does.

For most people, counting how much the K-1 represent in the number of day they must work to get the amount of money necessary to get it would be quite depressive. For the same price you could get an old used car that could serve you a few years.

One should be honest with himself what he is after and act accordingly.
I was just trying to illustrate what you could get for $289.

I think we all need to step back a minute and just take a look at how we are getting ripped off in the photographic game.

eg. The new Toyota Yaris is about to hit the sales room floor. Its been reviewed by the motoring magazines, and sales prices established. I have never heard of Toyota putting the price up on a new car - the Pre-order Price - as opposed to the sale price. Yes I know there will be rare limited edition cars that are order only like Ferrari's and exotica.

But these are cameras! Why is the pre-order price jacked up ? We're doing them a favor by pre-ordering the camera, and they'll have an EXACT idea of how much stock they'll need to order. If they don't put it out there in the form of a pre-order, they'll have no idea as to how much stock they should get in. If they get in too much, they'll have stock sitting. If they haven't got enough stock, they'll lose sales to their competitors.

If you pre-order football tickets, or theater tickets, or a Christmas hamper well in advance of the game, or play or Christmas ........... YOU GET A DISCOUNT !

So can we all just take a step back from this. A pre-order of anything well in advance, SHOULD translate into a discount, and not a price hike.

They don't have to justify anything I think. Isn't Autralia a country were everybody can set the price he want?
In Australia, there are laws for everything, its a Nanny State.

https://www.accc.gov.au/business/anti-competitive-behaviour/imposing-minimum-resale-prices

Retailers have to by law set the recommended retail price. Ricoh is retailing the K-1 online (A wholesaler who is also a retailer). The price was extremely high one day, then dropped the next day by $289 ...........

WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED RETAIL PRICE IN AUSTRALIA for the Pentax K-1 ?

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE "PRE-ORDER PRICE" AND "RETAIL PRICE" ! There is only one price.

Is Cr Kennedy performing a mock auction or faux auction. They set the price high, and rip off the big spenders, and when the pre-orders stop, drop the price and rip off the next tier of people, until we get to the Retail price. Because this is what it looks like to me.

Retail sales are regulated in Australia. I think someone needs to be done about Ricoh/CR-Kennedy over this exorbitant pre-order price, and price drop. They're performing a faux auction and not retail sales.

I think all western countries have similar laws regarding retail sales. On Ebay, retailers tend to set what ever price they want, unless that Ebay is "Ebay.com.au" then it is in Australia and under Australian legislation. Similarly, most ebay's in Western Countries have to abide by their laws which should be similar. I've seen foreign ebay retailers charge new prices wildly higher than the recommended retail price here.

The link below shows that Ricoh needs to abide by the law on this pre-order/retail price for the K-1. It was high, and they've discounted it and there seems to be a breach of the law.

Thanks @OoKU ! Any word on this slide? I guess that:
- full round: fully supported on K-1, plus lens profile correction
- round: fully supported on K-1
- triangle: supported on K-1 when stopped down
- square: not supported

Can you confirm?

The phone company Oppo might be inspired by Pentax to develop sensor stabilization in their camera modules.

Good advice. Pls do.

I suggest you take up your issues directly with CRK or the ACCC, if the matter troubles you so.

I'd guess more like:
- full round: fully supported on FF mode with lens profile correction
- round: supported in crop mode, but covers full frame
- triangle: supported in crop mode, vignettes slightly in FF mode
- square: supported in crop mode, vignettes heavily in FF mode
