Normal AF point are given for f/5.6... That's why most AF lenses are no slower than f/5.6, or not much slower (f.5.8, f/6.3). Now there special AF points that are more precise for lenses with large max apperture or AF points that are made to track narrow apperture lenses (f/8) in general to adapt to long tele with a TC attached.
From K5-II, Pentax bodies have some AF point optimized for f/2.8, but up to my knowledge, Pentax bodies still don't have f/8 AF points. So you should consider f/5.6 the limit.
DA*300 is f/4 wide open and f/5.6 with an 1.4TC, in both cases, AF will be no issue.
