Can someone explain why a Pentax K-1 is cheaper than a Nikon D750 in the US, but in Australia the K-1 is $602 more expensive than a Nikon D750.
Because the Nikon D750 is very cheap in Australia and the K-1 costs about as much as in the US when taking tax into account. The question is why Americans pay so much for the D750.

This thread has wandered so far afield that it is no longer recognizable.

£1599 and it supports Dual SD/SDHC/SDXC (UHS-I) (so it should be up to 2TB *2 (if tou can find cards that big) according to the sdxc standard.

I like the K-1 pictures in this article.

I'm not sure they're big enough to draw any conclusions about image quality though.

Please could someone tell me what is the minimum lens aperture for autofocus with k1? I have a K3 and a SMCP-DA* 300mm f/4. I am a photographer of nature (photos of birds) and need to know that. I intend to buy a k1 as soon as possible. Thank you guys

IIRC it is 8 (not sure). But the DA*300 f/4 will have no problem to autofocus, of course!
On a K3 I can autofocus with no problem with the 300 + 1.4TC (so, f/5.6), but also with the 150-450 + 1.4TC (so, f/8).

FWIW, I will keep my K3 for wildlife shooting, just because of its apparent larger reach.

Normal AF point are given for f/5.6... That's why most AF lenses are no slower than f/5.6, or not much slower (f.5.8, f/6.3). Now there special AF points that are more precise for lenses with large max apperture or AF points that are made to track narrow apperture lenses (f/8) in general to adapt to long tele with a TC attached.

From K5-II, Pentax bodies have some AF point optimized for f/2.8, but up to my knowledge, Pentax bodies still don't have f/8 AF points. So you should consider f/5.6 the limit.

DA*300 is f/4 wide open and f/5.6 with an 1.4TC, in both cases, AF will be no issue.

As I said, the 150-450 + TC (f/8) on K3 focuses without any problem.

Would "crop mode" not be an adequate substitute for you?

It could. I just need to try the K1 to see how the crop mode work.
