Finally, I've pulled the trigger and pre-ordered the K-1. The sensible part of me counselled that I should wait until some reviews appeared, and PF members had reported back on their experiences with the camera... But, as I suspected it would, the impulsive part of me (stricken as I am with terminal PBA - Pentax Buying Addiction) finally won over. The £130 discount on the accompanying lens helped, too. According to the gentleman at SRS Microsystems, UK, they expect to be shipping on 25 May. My procrastination has meant that I will not be among the first recipients as all the first shipment is already spoken for, and although I am envious of those of you who will be getting the camera very soon now, I think I can endure the wait. I'm particularly looking forward to trying out the pixel shift mode, as I am very impressed with its implementation on the K-3 II, albeit in controlled circumstances.

A good idea - Pentax organising 'discovery days' in major regional cities to allow people to check the new camera out with the new lenses etc, and maybe bring their own. Similar to what Pentax Japan has organised, I believe.

Hopefully something like that might happen in Australia.

Every time i recieve a notification update from this thread i think i will finally read "my k1 have been shipped" or see the picture of Kenspo with two K1 .... Unsuscribing the thread for sanity reason... The wait was more bearable when i know still was left months to realease rather than just a few weeks
Sorry. It's your own fault -- the delivery needed to go 10000 paces east. You told them to go weast.

The big news in this french article, is They receive their TEST camera from Pentax.

This mean they got the final version and they confirm the full review is coming soon.

It's seem very quiet from all test site , I am sure they are in what we call in marketing the Quiet Period , is the timeline were all testers can not talk about the product(As they receive the final version) until an official date. I am sure Pentax Forum got their copy and are bind by the same rule. And same for Kenspo, he is very quiet lately.
When the official day come, then the a flood of reviews will be coming. This create a buzz in the market . You also have to check publishing date of the key Photo magazine to make sure they are close to the launch date and normally will be showing on the first page.

(apart from you, obviously )
The DA 40 and DA 70 both can cover full frame but they were not made for full frame. APS-H crop would ensure that these lenses don't have any problems. APS-H could well be the sweet spot for these lenses. I would rather have an APS-H crop that uses more of the pixels the sensor has.

As for cropping a full frame capture after the image has been taken doesn't help me while I am taking the image in the first place. I don't crop my images. I frame the images from the viewfinder. So I would rather have an APS-H crop in the viewfinder so I can better realize the composition while taking the image.

DA40 is an M40 in disguise so it was made for full frame.
It wasn't made according to modern FF standards though....

The Guy at SRS told me today that they expect to get their full order on the 25th April, also that Pentax are ringing them up every morning to find out who has ordered the Grip Bundle.
Took the "Next-Day" delivery option so expecting mine a week Tuesday, Yay!

Yup, prepare yourselves for a new round of squealing over video, crop modes, OBF, WiFi, GPS, crippled mount and whatever.
