Mystery Lenses in Pentax Interview??

Though not an expert, I believe that the two cylindrical objects in this photo are possibly lenses, what are your thoughts?

I personally believe that they're definitely primes, but I hope they're not "macros" per say. The lenses Pentax really need now in respect to primes are 20mm (f1.8/f2.8), 35mm (f1.4), 85mm (f1.4), 135mm (f1.8/2.8), or, if they are releasing a macro, a 200mm (f2.8/4) Macro.

Certainly primes. My guess - 85/1.4 and 28/2.0

Looks like two new primes, could be anything between 35 and 85.
Fat one could be even wider.

definitely a 85mm IMHO and perhaps a super fast 35mm

I have just bought a Sigma 35mm 1.4 and it is AWESOME so I can imagine Pentax might be looking to match it.

Hey Kenspro - thanks for sticking to the PFs threads through the lead up to FF. It was a torrid time for you.

I have been patient and am very happy with what I see. Sure not a FF that beats the competition hands down on paper, but, I got this feeling that the paper specs don't tell the whole story. I have a massive legacy FF lens collection waiting for use on the FF camera. One thing I am keen to learn of is this - will Ricoh oblige us Digital - legacy lens lovers with lens profiles for uploading into the camera to correct for the 'legacy' downsides? I know it is not a money spinner directly, but, with such support Pentax may sell many more FF cameras.

No it doesn't tell the whole story. We'll know more after Pentax talked about and explained it on CP+ I will have to ask them about that, since that is something i dont know personally

Thanks

For example. I own K series lenses with no electrical contacts such as the K20/4, K28/2, K35/2 and K135/2.5. They are recognised on the digital bodies for their focal length only (SR purposes). IF I could have a user mode dedicated to each lens and have a lens profile for that lens linked to that user mode to correct aberrations etc that would be AWESOME.

Actually, this has just given me an idea. Wit this approach one could set up a non-green button routine for lenses registered in the user modes. By depressing the shutter button half way the camera could automate a 'green button' metering as well as focus confirmation. Anyway, if Ricoh could hear that question and ponder that would be great.

The larger one looks like a mock-up of the 28-105.
