just noticed it on Pentax Rumours.....looks like UHD 4K is capable by Ricoh!


This is more exciting than the K1(to me)


cant wait to get it in the water, but wont be getting the SILVER shark attracting colour(mimics the colour of fish!)

I am always interested with what Ricoh can produce and this looks like a fine video cam!
I wonder how much "competition" this will bring to the GoPro family??
That would be of interest to me if I ever needed a "dedicated" video cam, for sure.

in my area we had a BAD year in 2015.....Great Whites were on the bite(1 bull shark and 1 tiger out of 14 attacks)


so much so, that our Stave government has put a fair few $$$$ towards researching a solution

better than GP in a few different aspects....I wonder how the marketing will go?


AND an adapter makes a lot of the GP mounts compatible!

in the last few days I read somewhere that GP were laying off 7% of their staff, I wonder if it was in anticipation of losing some market share!


if Ricoh market this well, it really could take them into the main player in this segment


the founder of GP, was just a surfer travelling through Indonesia that thought of a need for this sort of camera


and to our knowledge(surfing enthusiasts) he is the first sufing billionaire

Will be interesting to see if they sell very many of these - news reports say that GoPro profits are seriously down, and some are speculating that the market GoPro discovered / created is largely saturated by now.

Yes...lots of elcheapo knock offs as well as rival cams from the established can companies... The segment got crowded quickly but GP were always ahead, not anymore....Ricoh will be the leader once this gets to market????Does anyone know when?
