fixed focal length maybe?
or no focussing ring?

i don't get it, i've never heard the term.
are you saing it's just an odd way of saying it's not a zoom lens?
or does it actually describe something special?

Poor little lonely "DA Wide Zoom"... Here's hoping you become real one day...
The problem, as I see it, is that they were going to use the Tokina 12-28 f4 as a basis for the lens, but there have been two possible issues:

1. The DA 12-24 is such a slow seller that it's been taking them years to clear out existing inventory, and until they run out of it, they won't introduce the new model.
2. The 12-28 seems to be inferior optically to the 12-24 model. The Pentax 12-24 tests better than the Tokina 12-24 (better coatings? better QC?) so they might have a solution to make the 12-28 better as well, but it still seems that the 12-24 is so good in Pentax form, that they might have made more batches of that lens as long as users are happy with the performance, which as far as I can tell, most people are.

It's rather strange translation from Japanese to English. Fixed focal length lens.

I would love to see a 24/1.4. Hope it isn't a tamron though...

Tamron doesn't make 24 1.4 lenses.

And I'm rather disappointed by their 35 and 45mm primes. I think they look worse (in real world picture terms) than the Tamron f/2.8 zooms.

The FA 50 f/1.4 is ultimately a refreshed super-takumar 50mm 1.4 (seven element). I think Pentax will get slapped for it's wide open performance. (I like the glow but people think everything should be tack sharp always nowadays). I don't think just HD coatings will solve it.
This. People praised the Sigma 50/1.4 and then the Sigma Art 50/1.4 for a reason.
The FA50/1.4 is nice but old and needs an udate, even the 55/1.4 is quite better. In fact I wonder what the true FL of the 55mm is? They might want to rename it 50mm, add DC, HD and voilà (would be a lot better than updated FA50).

Okay, if they're bringing out a full frame fisheye, that kills any intention I had of buying the DA 10-17. I'm sure it's a good lens, but I am planning to switch up at some point, and for a lens with a non-rectilinear projection I'd rather have it optimised for the full sensor size. And while I'm sure by now they won't be putting an aperture ring on it, I should at least be able to slap it on my P3 and P30T and run it in program mode the way I do my DA40 and DA50 from time to time.
AFAIK, the Zenitar 16mm FE is a full frame lens.

NaCl(at least I hope so, it's one of the lenses I'm looking forward to trying out on FF)H2O

Could we just skip the r... word for the next few months? If the idea was just to r... Tamron lenses why on earth would we have to wait until 2017?

hm, seems like there is no interest from from the market in a wider-than-24mm-but-slowish-and-compact ultrawide prime :-/

Translation error. Single focus = single focal length.

Maybe they are Tamron designs yet to be released.
Or maybe Tamron have to complete Nikon, Canon and Sony runs before producing for Ricoh.

Did you read my post, or just stop after the "R" word? Because that is exactly what I said.

Perhaps the worst thing about those new lenses being "2017 or later" is that we'll have to listen more than an entire year about how they might be rebadged Tamrons.
Actually the worst thing might be listening to the Pentax is doomed caterwauling, whining and threats to jump ship!
