That's where some high temp superconductors would come in handy. The power requirements would be minimal and moving the sensor about would be child's play. The fly in the ointment is the superconductors...we don't have any high temp ones, unfortunately!!!. The only other way to move it would be to use micro-actuators, like the actuators they use in adaptive optics on telescopes, but on a micro scale. That would work and wouldn't necessarily use too much battery power.
