Mushy as hell? I don't know. I noticed when I reduce color noise from Canon camera in LR in raw files, I get much more "mushy" result. I'm not an expert of course.

You know. I haven't even received my K1 and I am more than a little disappointed that some are already trying to beat it up. I'm pretty damn excited, have high expectations, and am not looking for ways to be negative before I snap my first shot.

I am also amazed at the skill some have in reviewing the K1, having never even touched one, never taken a snap, and never invested a dime of their money in one (or Mrs Ruperts).

I know...it is common practice, we always see it when a new Flagship is in the final stage before delivery...but it is still ugly.

I'm gonna get mine, love it, and use it a lot......and according to Mrs Rupert, it will make me a Pro in no time! I once made an entire gallery of 100% crops so people could view lovely pixels, and no one but a few freaks were ever interested, so I went back to normal postings. You'd be amazed at the difference in viewers opinions...some of you ought to try it!

That's my 2 cents.....I don't let my squirrels get into a conversation like this, and those of you that value your hinies can thank me for it!

Best Regards!
Rupert......Proud and excited Pentaxian!

People conveniently (or intentionally) neglect to mention the pre-production version of the firmware used for these samples. Any evaluations and comments
based upon them have no bearing whatever regarding the final 1.0 version. This entire thread is just entirely irrelevant and a waste of space.

apologies if you'd said elsewhere, but, just for interest's sake, what firmware version are you working with?

Thanks, Rupert, for stating what most reasonable people are thinking. The constant whining get real old. Fortunately, I find the ignore list has helped a lot. The poor whiners must really lead unhappy lives.

I didn't read all the posts so maybe someone already pointed that, but looking at the exifs, the noise reduction is OFF.

The blacks are much cleaner. A great indicator of ISO performance IMO.

Then run out and buy an 810. No waiting! {only an extra $1000 at a reputable dealer - enough to have bought a K-3ii and still had change left over}

No! You must be filled with self-doubt and envy! IT IS THE WAY.

The last firmware update had a self destruct code in it. The camera will no longer work as of the K-1 release date.
