Well... I think that might be overstating the case just a little.
I mean, yes, it does eliminate ONE use for focus lock... But, if all you are doing is setting the hyperfocal distance to x# of FT @ Fxx and want to run around with it in that mode, the fact that it creeps a hair when you lock it, isn't really relevant to most people.
If you want to set at Infinity before you do some night sky shooting, and you are holding pressure against the infinity stop, the lock shouldn't let it creep, or if you just want to retract the focus to minimal lens size or to push the rear element back for cleaning or for storage (does this one change size?) or a polarizer or other filter and lock it, then that is fine too. Shouldn't really effect Catch in focus use much if at all either.
About the only thing I could picture it being an issue with is using it from a tripod on stationary objects at fairly close range or maybe for focus stacking?
Anywho, sounds like a good thing to know, but not nearly a deal breaker for most people.
