Spare me the sarcasms and let me rewrite that for you "I would be curious to know if the lens design is one of the existing Samyang lens (with or without tweak) in a new case". Honest question to which I would have like to have an answer.
Hope it is better now.

I don't think so. Samyang had a 14mm f2.8, but it was 14mm (and possibly marketed as Vivitar 13mm at some point) and f2.8, so there are two differences immediately. And it only has 6 aperture blades. And no DoF scales are labelled on it.
The Samyang 16mm f2 is a APSC design, not FF.

And why would Samyang invent a new company name, Irix, when Samyang is currently enjoying a good reputation? I think Samyang is even slowly phasing out all the many rebadges (Vivitar, Rokinon, Bower, ProOptic, Falcon, etc.) because it is doing so well on its own.
But it is possible that there is some connection, I guess. Maybe some suppliers, factories for Irix will be the same ones that Samyang has. Its not that uncommon for lens designs and production has some "cooperation" between different brands

I don't think it takes sarcasm to point out that Samyang has never had either a 15 mm or an f/2.4 lens, and even less so a 15 f/2.4 lens, which would take more than just "a tweak" to achieve.

If the price is right I could be interested in this lens. Paired with the K-1 it would possibly make for an awesome landscape kit.

I read in one of the articles that it should become available in the spring 2016.
It's stated in the press release, at the bottom of page 2: http://irixlens.com/downloads/others/Irix_press%20release_18%20March%202016-m.pdf

Same thoughts here. And same goes with the Irix 11mm f4.

As for me... I am really excited. No price in this pdf but I liked the fact they put in 9 blades. Nice!
And unfortunalety not the weight of the pentax version. Maybe they will come later?!?

Agreed. Plus the Irix 15/2.4's 15 elements in 11 groups bears little resemblance to either the Samyang 14/2.8's 14-in-10, or the 16/2's 13-in-11.

They are like electrolyte's, its what plants crave!

Hey, kidding aside, give them a break. They may have just picked something to trademark in a name for their coating, and all the good ones were taken, heh heh, not an actual description of the product. Also, not everything translates well from other languages.

I've been in the tech industry forever. Lots of companies were named to honor mothers or relatives, and on the USA marketing we would see an abbreviation : DFI (Diamond Flower Industries) SMS (Sun Moon Star) LG (Lucky Goldstar) etc. etc. etc. So I really don't get too crazy anymore when I see somewhat less than common branding from overseas. It's prolly a culture thing (or they really are just silly people, but I doubt that)

I thought Neutrinos were just characters in one of those half hour toy commercials that used to be shown on Saturday morning...

Good point. Let me rephrase the question then. Is it possible this lens would outperform the 15 Limited on say a K-3 II?
