Another even better news is that the 31 Mp Hassie is now "only" 12000 Euro. I sense that this thred will very soon become a "this is the sensor for the next 645D!!!!!!!!!!".

BTW, Kodak also announced plans for a true 645 size sensor.

If I remember correct 1,61X. So a 80mm becomes a 50mm in 35mm.

I may be wrong!

I think it should be: an 80mm has the same "enlargement power" of a 50mm on 24x36.

An 80mm made for 6x4,5 is still an 80mm on 35mm film.

Whats the conversion factor for 645 and 67 lenses on an aps-c sensor.

I've looked into the adapter(s) for my K100 and K20, they're quite expensive but I'm very interested to know how these lenses would work on my cameras?

Anyone have any thoughts?

:-) Interesting, isn't it. BTW you wont have to win the lottery this fall but one should have affordable funds available.

One-upmanship: new Phase One 60mp sensor

Full frame 6x4.5cm format, 20% larger than the Kodak chip, same sized pixels.

Phase One P65+ Preview

Interesting note:

"It's already rumoured in the industry that there's another chip supplier waiting in the wings (no, not Kodak) that will be offering some advanced MF sized sensor technology, but that's likely a year or more away."

Could this new chip maker be Samsung? Will Pentax release a 645 DSLR with a Samsung CMOS chip?

Could be. Pentax certainly won't use the Kodak chip (they have said as much). In addition, the Pentax boss have said that they WILL make the 645D at some point.
If Samsung want to be seen as a sensor manufacturer present in all segments, then Pentax is the perfect vehicle for that...

645 focal length x 0.62 = equivalent 35mm focal length
BUT a 50 is a 50 so on aps a 50mm lens for a 645 is the same as a 50mm lens for 35mm. So it's a FOV of a 75mm on APS.
31(645 FOV)= 50 (35mm FOV) = 75 (APS-C FOV)
Hope I remembered this correctly....... and it may be answered here already

Samsung would probably not make a medium format chip without first having the assurance that Pentax will use it. Samsung would not want to be another Cypress Electronics, which has sensors that nobody seems to want to buy to use in a DSLR. It would be fun if Samsung comes up with a 60mp chip and the Pentax camera that has it sells for half the price of the Phase One and Hasselblad cameras.

Well that new Hassy is just a piece of junk. Heck it can only shoot 1 frame a second, and if you want to shoot 33 quick shots it'll take you a whole minute (must be german math). Maybe our 3fps Pentaxes ain't so slow after all.

Just kidding of course, but it is a testament that "fastest aint always bestest"
