Yes, moisture comes in and out, but the point with WR and AW are that it´s watertight.

Pentax could have done in the end of the cooperation with Samsung as they did at ~1975 then they came out with K mount. They could have let K mount be free. In the seventies Vivitar, Ricoh and many more brands use K mount, but later on Ricoh made a different k mount that was not compatible with Pentax.
And that was a problem.
Today Pentax can let K mount be free again, but with a contract so for example Fuji, Casio, Sigma and Yasica can make their own cameras and a few or more lenses with K mount. That can be very good for both K mount and Pentax.

Huh, you mean Pentax decided NOT to open KA-mount.
Others did not have much of a choice did they ?

K-mount is free, it has always been.
KA-mount patents expired AFAICT so it is factualy free.
KAF, KAF2, KAF3 are still covered by patents and not free to use (till now at least).

Actually, it's Hasselblad that will be the first camera maker to announce a mirrorless medium format camera: on June 22nd at 2pm CEST.

Same 50 Mpix CMOS sensor as Pentax 645Z (and Hasselblad H5D-50C, H6D-50C and CFV-50C).

But do they have lenses? The Hasselblad mount flange distance is even longer than the 645-mount

I presume:

- this new camera will have a new mount with a relatively short flange distance
- they will do the same as Leica for the SL launch: a couple of dedicated lenses and adapters for H and V lenses.

But I might be wrong and they could reuse their H mount, as Sigma did for their SD Quattro.

By the way, Hasselblad are teasing a second part of the puzzle camera on Instagram and Facebook today.

Indeed. This corresponds to what I was calling "a relatively short flange distance" compared to a 69mm image circle diameter.
