New Q or Pentax 110 digital with 1" sensor?

There are several new patents (2016-61902,61903,61918,61919,61926) from Ricoh for a couple of prime lenses for 1" sensor with standard focal lengths like 25,35,50 and 75mm.
Could it be new generation of Q with 1" sensor, new Auto 110 digital or just lenses for industrial cameras?

Could be. A 1" Q would be interesting.

If the 08, 01 and 06 won't cover a 1" sensor I, for one, am not interested.

I wonder if Ricoh planned that far ahead? Seems unlikely but who knows.
I can say I am quite impressed with the sensor in the little RX100.

Those focal lengths are all but standard since the corresponding lenses have been designed for 1" sensors and the focal lengths are actual ones, not 'equivalent' ones. So multiply by 2.7 if you want to compare them with 24x36 lenses. Angles of view range between 12.2° (75mm) and 35.5° (25mm).

The patents clearly stipulate the lenses are "image input devices" (画像入力装置) for "machine vision" (マシンビジョン, phonetic) systems.

I would be hesitant to believe that Ricoh will introduce a fourth mounting system. They already have the Q, K, and 645 systems to sustain. A fourth could take away precious resources from existing systems. Ricoh has stated that their mirrorless solution is the Q system. So, unless they plan to abandon the Q in favor of something else I don't think we'll see a larger sensor system.

Then again, who knows? We're all just guessing here.

The Q mount would be compatible with a 1" sensor (the current Q lenses would not).

But, again, the patents reported by banep are about machine vision lenses.

machine vision lenses.
In other words, specialist and industrial applications rather than consumer photography, yes?

Indeed; process control in particular.

Barely. The Nikon 1 registration distance (17mm) is almost twice that of the Q (9.2mm).

It's the throat diameter that matters. The registration distance of the Sony E mount is equal to 18mm and it's a 24x36 mount (barely as well).

I'd be quite happy to see the Q mount developed further, even if it means existing Q lenses would work in crop mode on say a new Q-1. Something like the K-1 works in crop mode with most APS-C designed DA lenses.

I do like the Q camera and its better lenses, but would so much prefer a slightly larger camera if it included an EVF, especially if it came with a 1" sensor and some new lenses.

Alternatively I'd be very happy with a Ricoh GR with EVF.

I've been saying this since my early days with the Nikon 1 system - 1" is the new APS-C.
