Just made a donation to join this awesome project ! Nice to see a Pentax Kaptivating Kamera trip

As Robbiec is in the list, maybe we can even meet (in Cork, Limerick or Galway...) to transfer this K1000. What about this ?

Gonna pledge today !
I think it would be nice if it had a case of some sort to keep it in good shape with all that traveling, just an idea on top of my head...

Awesome response so far, everyone! Yay!!
So far, looks like the itinerary will be as follows:

--edited--

I'll adorn the camera with an everready case and a wrist strap for the trip. As far as packaging, let's try and re-use the same box and fortify it as the packaging wears out. Bubble wrap and packing paper should be sufficient, but the box may need refreshment every few trips.

Learned from Sightseeing Screwmount (traveling SV):
  • Moderator maintains the list in the thread
  • Moderator groups the list by continent
  • Current User PM's next User for shipping address
  • Current User posts to thread when shipped
  • Next User posts to thread when received (+ courtesy PM to previous user)
  • Typical use time is two weeks
  • Current User posts photos to Flickr Group and links
  • Comments on Flickr or thread
  • Someone made a fitted plywood inner liner for a Priority Mail box
  • Someone added shaped foam inside the box
  • Someone added a OEM User Guide
  • As needed, Current User changes the 'skin' box
  • Sightseeing Screwmount has never been damaged in shipping

Sounds like a plan All my primes have manual apertures so should work quite nicely.

Great ! It would be nice to meet you, there aren't many Pentaxians around where I am
I have a few primes with aperture rings that would go nicely with the K1000 too and an access to a darkroom to develop the films...

Thanks Monochrome for these precise rules !

Had to see this camera travel down under! (I'm happy to share postage expenses with the sender if it's pricey to ship here) So, donation made. Please add me to the list. 😊

The camera arrived at my place today! I need to repackage it, since it looks like box it came in took some damage. I'll try and get it off to Eric over the weekend.

perhaps it might be a thought to add the country after each person - then we can get an idea of where it is going to be ......

It looks like the camera has quite a long journey ahead of it! Glad to see so many people interested.

I've updated the list of pledges in my earlier post.
