Folks.....worst case Scenario is if someone donate a replacement, and if it comes down to it, I might be able to replace it, I see them in the Pawn shops all the time here in Vegas for dirt cheap and in excellent condition, I have a 50mm M lens I can possibly throw in too..... just a thought.
Nice gesture.

But read the post just prior to yours.

@petrol_pyro That's awful Sympathy to him and his family. Did his son mention specifically - did he pass on? or is he suffering other effects making him unable to perhaps read or type to some or all extent. I know several of my family members lived for many years following stroke though for instance my grandmother had to learn to write left-handed. After a year or two those notes were more legible than her previous hand-written notes!
Can only hope this scenario is as hopeful.

Just two nights ago I sent a message to his Facebook account and sent the info onto JC. I hope all is well... certainly makes a camera seem less important.

This is a great lesson to ourselves, and to anyone else who might be following along. I hope enigmaticca is doing OK at this time. This photo project is obviously not as important as taking care of yourself and your family. All faith in the people of PF is fully restored in my mind, and I hope to see this project continue on with the same enthusiasm it seems to have garnered since the beginning.

Don't forget also, that there is a new social group for monthly film photography that is open for any PF member to join. It would be cool to see some contributions from this camera in and amongst the offerings (hint, hint!).

Hello everyone,

I'm relatively new member of the community, and more of a lurker than active participant; however, I recently have grown interest in the threads like this, and seeing that I'm going to downsize some of my equipment (yes, I'm yet another victim of GAS), I can donate a K1000 SE with a lens (and a roll of film) to the cause.

He wants to know who to send it to next. Options are ask him to send it back to me, and i'll send to the next member, or send it directly on - to @kp0c CA I think
I suggest sending it directly on. Shipping out of Oz can be spendy, so if they're neck-deep in medical bills I can cover the shipping cost (via PayPal to them) for the next leg.

Update: have got in touch with his son, should have the camera back in about a week.

Who does it go to next? Need someone to pm me an address
Thanks for doing that -- his son wrote the same thing to me as he wrote to you, but I haven't be on Pentaxforums for a couple days and just noticed the messages.

Does the first post of the thread still contain the most current list of participants? I seem to recall there might have been a second post in the thread that ws now current because the first post couldn't be edited anymore. The recent and upcoming part of the list from the first post is:

Enigmatica AU
petrol_pyro AU
kp0c CA
Mattcard CA
Mamethot CA
K David US
mconwxdr US

Well God bless him and his family. So very sorry to hear it was something so awful. Of course his life is more important than a traveling camera. Hopefully he is recovering.

Hi
I've been following this thread for a couple of weeks now, and I'm glad that the camera isn't lost. Sending good thoughts to Enigmaticca and his family with the hope that he soon recovers.

And then I would like to ask, if one still can join the "Kaptivating K-mount Travelling K1000" tour? I'm from Denmark, Europe. It could be fun.
I see the donation link is in this first post, so if possible I would join in.

I am not part of this but I am happy to see it back on track. A wonderfully whimsical Pentaxian enterprise.
