I plan to pack all 10 rolls with the camera, so if you need a roll, take a roll. And of course, if you want to send along unused rolls for others to use, make sure you identifiy what they are, what process, and ASA.

There are still some b/w rolls in my cupboard. Expired 2008 and 2010. That could be interesting

Honestly I was more excited by the original idea where it would travel to whoever signs up next. As an early participant at number 5 or so, I am now down to 11. I think it would also be more attractive for those to come. What do you think?

I think it would be nice if it had a case of some sort to keep it in good shape with all that traveling, just an idea on top of my head...
I have donated an Everready case for the camera, which it is wearing right now en route to Knoxville.

How's this for a best case compromise?
That's a good plan.

When the K1000 is in Ireland, perhaps you could hitchhike to pubs around the country, and let people buy drinks in honor of it?
I think someone did that already with a small refrigerator. Could make for some good pub-portraiture.

An Asahi Super Dry beer would be most appropriate!

Hey guys, my mom gave me another K1000 with a couple lenses... an M50/2 and an Albinar 80-200/3.9 zoom lens. Both are fairly dirty, but apertures seem clean and glass "clear enough." Who knows where they've been for the past 30 years, but I do remember when she got the kit for Christmas. Anyway, is there any interest in using either of these? We already have one M50/1.7 being donated... but how about the zoom? I won't use it, I won't sell it, but I bet my ma would be pretty excited to see photos taken from all these exotic locations with this lens. That OK with you? (Don't worry, the box should be big enough for all this stuff.)

A second traveling camera, perhaps? We'd need many more backers to make it happen, but having two would greatly decrease the time that users would have to wait to shoot!

I might be more interesting if there were enough participants to arranged in a manner that the camera could be handed off to each other, in person, rather than using mail.

Ha...this idea got me to post for the first time in about a year.

I have a K1000 that I just acquired, and it has a faulty meter and bad seals but otherwise works like a charm. It's an early model, all metal top and bottom. The meter moves some but always thinks it is overexposed. If it is helpful, and the traveling K1000 needs parts, I would like to donate mine as a parts donor for this project since I also have a working p30t. I'll ship it to wherever it needs to go, I guess to Eric? Just let me know

Yes. I'll keep track of the donations dedicated to this project in this post:

So far we've received donations totaling $180.25 from:

-jcdoss
-monochrome
-wild mark
-kp0c
-sbh
-robbie c
-monochrome
-mconwxdr
-mamethot
-K David
-Enigmatica
-gorme
-Rense
-pathdoc
-gr026r
.. and me, but I split it 5/7 to the site and 2/7 to this project. So the forum gets a cut also.

The logistics of that are doubtful without a HUGE number of people involved. I know I'm not the only person on this board in Newfoundland, but leaving it demands either air or sea travel or a significant distance by road. Between work and family commitments, I would find it difficult to justify the minimum four hour drive (eight hours return) to the next nearest (known) Forum member simply to hand over or receive a camera, to say nothing of the hour's drive and two hour flight necessary to get to the nearest convenient North American land connection (Halifax).

The mail service was invented for a reason.
