Eric received the new K1000 yesterday. I have not heard from kp0c (he hasn't been online in a while, either.) So we'll give him until I have to pay the invoice and name a shipping address.

Mattcard, as a backup, can you PM me your shipping address. If we don't hear from kp0c I'll have Eric send it along to you.

Give me a couple days to get things sorted on this. My home was broken into this morning (at 6AM...) and I woke up to a dude in my living room with an armful of cameras. I lost my Olympus M-1 and my K1000, the camera that got me started, for sure. I just need to do a few things today before I tend to this.

I do have a camera in mind. It's a Pentax, but it's not a K-mount. I think it will be interesting and no big deal if it goes AWOL. I just have to find it this week.

David
I hope you're doing fine after the brake in, and maybe this video can prove to be helpful in planning some strategies to counter possible future incidents.

I guess Eric is still working on the camera?

I'll follow up, but I would assume so. In Eric's defense, I sent him something like 15 cameras to work on in that lot.

Also, it seems like he has a big backlog at the end of the year.

Just a note, I got the K1000 back from Eric. I'm going to give it a test run on Saturday then send it along on Monday with some film.

The K1000 will ship out to Matt this week.

Edit: Confirming that the K1000 is on it's way to Matt Canada and that my hike with it the other weekend yielded really good results.

I sent two of the four K1000 rolls that I took lat Saturday off to the lab and received the C-41 images (The E100 isn't developed yet, but I'll post images when I get those photos.)

These were taken on Rollei CN200 with the camera's included 50mm f/1.4 lens and my 77mm FA Limited, 100mm D-FA macro, and Vivitar 28mm f/2.8 RL Edition lens. So I put my thumb on the scale a bit and used lenses other than the fast fifty. Here are some of the photos that turned out well. These were all taken at Castlewood State Park near Castle Rock, Colorado.

Rollei CN 200:

Kodak E100:

Fuji Velvia 50:

I'll edit this post again when I get some new chemistry and can develop the B&W rolls.

I particularly like the fifth one of the trees and the fog. What happened in the third one -- what is that blue artifact on the bottom right?

I didn't think the rules said you had to use the lens that came with the camera, but maybe I've forgotten them by this point?

Thank you, the tree and fog shot was my favorite from the day, too.

The blue artifact is something that CN200 does. The first few frames of every roll are usually red-fogged because the film lacks an antihalation layer to protect it from light leaking through the cassette mouth. But CN200 is notorious for other weird glitches. The blue spot looks like a dye run, where an area of dye didn't clear. It could have been a flaw in the dye layer or an are where the dye was a bit thicker and didn't fully clear. It's definitely not the weirdest thing that I've seen CN200 do.

As for the rules, I can't recall any more. But I actually don't care if anyone uses more than just the fast 50.

I am waiting for the camera to be delivered
It is stuck at the facility for some time now.
There have been a strike at Canada post lately, shipping is somewhat disrupted. Never a dull moment in this kaptivating k mount tread 😀

Well, film *is* typically slower than digital.
