Kaptivating K-Mount Traveling K1000

Hi ,

I just sent a message to Mamethot who is the next on the list, if i have no news in a couple of days i will contact the next after on the list. According to the last location, we are an hour drive away so if everything goes well the next handout should be fast.

I will update you guys for the following devellopements , and will post some pictures taken with the camera in a short while

Hi...sorry for not updating. I received it and am thoroughly enjoying it. Should be done with it this week and get it out by Monday.

The camera is on its way to leekil. Thanks again for nostalgia. I'll upload some shots when I get the scans back from the local camera shop, if there are any worthy. Are we still using the Flickr page, or is here preferred?

When K David was first proposing to replace the lost K1000, he was going to replace it with a pre-K mount Pentax. It turned out that some people didn't want a screwmount, so he switched it back a K1000. But if anyone is interested in a similar project with a M42 lens camera, there is the Sightseeing Screwmount. It's a Pentax SV, which has no light meter, making it even more different than the K1000, besides being an M42 camera.

RE: Sightseeing Screwmount, the SV was acting up so I sent it to Eric Hendrickson. He found nothing wrong, adjusted the speeds and sent it back N/C, but I still think it is acting up (shutter hangs open on random shots and cameras locks up). I’ve shot one roll and some of a second color roll which I will finish tomorrow (we’ve had one weather pattern after another and maybe six hours of sun in three weeks). When they’re back from Walgreens if half the frames are either black or clear then I’ll figure something out - perhaps make an offer on the SV in the Marketplace or send this one to Mark Hama. i’ll Post to the thread soon.

Reach out to Mike at Phototronic in Topeka and let him know that David Hancock recommended him. He fixed a camera (a very complex Taron) for me that Mark could not. You can also find Mike at the YouTube channel FixOldCameras.
