Some allowances are permitted and should be. I, for one, am happy that the police don't book me for doing 5km/h over the speed limit.

Yes, they made a D FA* 70-200 f/2.8 out of it...

Don't even try. I'm not talking BS here.
The 28-105 was made from what some clueless people are calling "the 4.0 35-80 patent".

The Patent of the 70-200 is much older and it's a standard process that a badge of prototypes and patents developed together.
The current patent of the 100-300 is not a prototype like the first here known patent of the 70-200.
It's a preseries patent.
There were 2 different own projects of the current lens and the 100-300.
Since 2 years 100-300 project,70-200 start up is 4 years old.
There are minimum 3 full patents of the 70-200.
And take everything with a little bit more fun and humor maybe, life is hard enough

Best regards

I know about the older (but not-so-old) "70-200" patent. It doesn't match the D FA* 70-200.
The "100-300" patent correspond to a 70-200, too - with an identical number of elements/groups to the D FA* (19/16), and ED/Super ED elements count (2/2). It's the embodiment 5 from the patent.
Ricoh 100-300mm F4?????????????So-net???

A similar story for the other patent. All it takes is to read them, just the Google translated Japanese would do.

I would find it funny, except people are really hoping for a 100-300 and a 35-80, yet Pentax never promised such lenses. Continuing to talk about a "100-300 patent" and a "35-80 patent", at this point, it's a lie. I take lies seriously, you know?

35-80 is funny,correct.
Do not think that this will be real.
Looks like a project and one of many patents.
4.0 100-300 is different.
Also the new 2.8 200.
1.4 50
85
60
100
All more than only patents on paper.
The current 100-300 patent is renewned.
Not to compare with the funny 35-80
Best regards

Sigh. The so-called "35-80 patent" correspond perfectly to the D FA 28-105 f/3.5-5.6. There are 5 example implementations specified for that patent; a 35-80 f/4 is the last of them. Why call it a "35-80 patent"? It doesn't make any sense.

I already said the so-called "100-300 patent" correspond to the D FA* 70-200. Again, why call it a "100-300 patent"?

Again: read the patents, or rather, the egami articles. The information is there.

The 60mm range has diferent systems, looks like preseries in different variants.
The 60 is in the 90mm 645 patent named.
It looks like Ricoh has fun with glass
I asked for new converter, but got no concrete answer. But got not a No
Best regards

If they make them, I'll buy them. Could you please pass the message?
