Same. For the K-1 I have the Sigma 35mm and 150-500mm (little scratch and all), and on APS-C rely on their 17-50mm.

I 'get' the problems of not using an OEM lens.

Update from Sigma Australia's Importer/Agent:

Our technicians in our Port Melbourne office can perform the free mount replacement for this K-1 compatibility issue. However we are currently waiting on a shipment of these modified lens mounts. I am expecting them to arrive in the next 1-2 weeks. If you are in Melbourne you can bring the lens to our service centre 8.30-4.30 Mon-Fri. We also have the following interstate offices that you could take the lens to and they will send it on to us in Melbourne for repair.

Still no teeny tiny scratch yet on my new K1, but just in case, I did start professional therapy for PLSD (Post Lens Scratch Disorder) and it looks like I might be able to buy a new K1 and several Ltd lenses for the cost of the therapy. But...seeing how distressing it can be to some, I can't afford to take a chance that I will succumb to this life threatening disorder.

Regards!

Just a quick question. Who pays for the shipping costs if I want the mount replaced and firmware updated? Sigma admitted that some of their lenses are not physically compatible with the K-1.

If I were you, I think I would be worried more about squirrel-claw scratches than lens mount scratches!

Oh, I worry about that too! However a few scratches on me would hardly be noticeable!

@Rupert, the sensor on the K-1 can get metal shavings on it from the Sigma lenses being put on and taken off, would you recommend people go to a car wash, do a mirror lockup and then use the high pressure sprayer to clean?

I've had a whole BUNCH of metal shavings from a cheapo M42 adapter... enough to scare me off using my favorite Tak's a while. The only way I use them now, is with a dedicated Genuine Pentax adapter on each lens with the spring catch removed. This is fine for small Taks... buy my 300mm is just too squirrelly (that was just for you Rupert, heh heh) and I don't trust it without a positive lock. And even then, I am afraid to use them on my soon to be delivered K-1.

Are there only batches manufactured that were affected or are the entire lenses in the list affected? I'm looking forward to a 50-500 in the future.

Well, you could ask Sigma. Let us know the response. ☺

They haven't recalled specific ranges of serial numbers, FWIW.

I guess Sigma will also offer replacement mounts for lenses still in warehouses (but that will depend on the resellers if they want to bother) and they will use a mount that doesn't scratch in any new lenses they manufacture.
