These lenses are way too big, and I think they are designed for cropped sensor's cameras. it would be good if KMZ reissues the Volna 50mm f1.2, that was a real standard lens with standard size and weight.

FF version's weight is 1.2 kg (length 127 mm), APS-C - 0.63 kg

Volna-8 - never be in the future. It was made by Soviet factory Arsenal in Kiev. Production years - 1983-85.

Does Arsenal in Kiev still operate? They still sell some lenses, even in K-mount. Most notably their tilt/shift lenses. But I don't know if they still make, produce lenses. Maybe they can be contacted if they want to put an older lens back into production for a limited run?

They still offer military production now...But it seems to me it exists only on paper.

I am pretty sure there was a Volna 8 made by Lomo for the Almaz series, if they could restart the production that would be a GREAT lens, much better than these "bokeh" lenses.

Also, the Zenitar 50mm f1.4 was the same lens as the Volna 4 and the Helios 123 produced by Kiev Arsenal, I would be even happy with that.

LOMO produced Volna 50/1.8 for ALMAZ-103.

Volna-3, 4 and 8 are made by ARSENAL.
Volna-4 was in production in ARSENAL and LOMO only as kit lens. No serial production.

Volna 9 was made by LZOS

Lomo with KMZ has reissued few interesting Soviet lenses of the past, namely the Russar MR-20 and the Jupiter 3, perhaps we should ask to reissue the Volna 4 or 8 in KA mount.. I am pretty sure some dozens of K mountes Volna 4s were made by Lomo in the 80s, at least 63.

My Volna 50mm f1.8 is at the moment installed on my LX and it's a lovely lens:

LOMO as the manufacturer of photo lenses doesn't exist anymore, by the way.

But they produce cinema lenses with "American" company
LOMO St-Petersburg

"If Pentax reaches a similar market share among the full frame bodies like Canon and Nikon, we will reconsider it."

Hmmmm....that's a 'never' then.

Or at best, not any time soon.

Never. 5% of market is too small
