Pentax had said before that the K-S2 was the replacement of the k-50. if that is so, this camera must be much better than the k-S2. Probably some features of the k-3/II will be incorporated in this thing.

I expect that the K-3II's replacement will be even better.

Still, one of my requested feature is better noise handling for high ISO low light shots. Please Pentax, please.

Looks like the high quality SR of the K-3ii

https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&nv=1&rurl=transl...CpQ4MsuSjfBHyQ

No mention of SR during video recording. K-3ii couldn't get this to work, nor the K-1.

Same burst rate and small buffer of the K-30 and max shutter speed etc. Still that same core underneath.

which, of course, they won't show us yet

Nice blend of the K-s2 and K-50 design - maybe it is replacing both after all

Hey look, its got 14 bit output now! And it now very clearly says "Continuous autofocus in video mode." Whoohoo!

Improved compared to... the K-s2? Further support that Pentax is blending the K-50 and K-s2 lineups?

Estimated RRP: JP¥78,000
Approx. 730USD - not bad at all. Respectable.

I think this is very clearly a model where they're testing the video AF. And a bit of refresh to the line. Nothing more. But gives time to prepare something more.

Better grip.

And speaking of the grip, are the moving towards a more Nikon-styled grip? It seems like from the K-30 to the K-50 to the K-70 its flaring out a bit more towards the lens mount, as if its covers your middlefinger. Having used a D7200 (once) I'm not certain I care for that... but I haven't used it long enough to really complain one way or the other. Just a thought. Maybe its better.
