K-70 Video

One simple question: Does the SR work in video mode?
If they fix the video, they'll get a new customer from me. If they don't (currently still offering their 2012 video offering even in the K-1) they won't get my money.
I agree! I have two K-50s and love ALMOST everything about them. They're well built cameras and a pleasure to use. However, the unusable video is very, very, frustrating. I just don't understand why Pentax is so far behind. If the K-70 video application has caught up with the rest of the industry, I'm in with great enthusiasm.

SR works well in video. Pentax chose to disable it because of the noise. In the K-5 it is enabled.

This looks an awful lot like the K-S2; maybe that will be discontinued?

Interesting is the concave flash housing. Strange that there are extra plastic pieces around the shutter button.

It looks compact. Wonder how tight that grip will be compared to my K-5 IIs.

So, more sculpted buttons, the mode dial is about 20% taller... an improved K-s2.
I really appreciate that they've got the flippy screen, but it takes up so much space - can't have the ergonomics of the K-30/50 anymore.

And now for the important question... do we get more color options? I'm partial to K-30 electric blue but I like stormtrooper white too... :-)

Seriously, except for SAFOX X, this is a pretty nice camera! I'm guessing that given that the next APS-C flagship might not ship in 2016, and given that the K-70 has 24mp and pixel-shift, they felt that with SAFOX XI the K-70 would cannibalize K-3 II sales...

Now I want to hear the shutter...

I'm sure hoping so! My K-x was white, my K-30 is white, and I'm hoping to continue the tradition.

And hopefully they bring back the glossy pearl white like the K-30 instead of the flat white of the K-50. And the glossy/metallic colors of the K-30 were really great too.

Same burst rate and small buffer of the K-30 and max shutter speed etc. Still that same core underneath.
It's almost as if Ricoh is designing cameras to use up its stock of internal components. Lots of Prime MII processors left, got to use them up, but out of stock on the old sensor, so lets use K-3 II parts for that. Same goes for SR. It's really a K-30/K-S2/K-3II, but K-70 is easier to print. Reminds me of

I hope the aperture control is from K-3ii, not from K-30 / K-50 / K-S2
