Nope, HDMI is a digital signal that includes both audio and video. You will need a device that can decode the data stream coming over the HDMI cable, but then you can view the video in full resolution and hear the audio as recorded, which is a big improvement over the composite video signal (think old VHS camcorders) us K-30/50 owners are stuck with. You should be able to connect your camera to an HDTV with a cable that has the small plug to go into the camera and the regular sized plug to go into your TV and have a big real-time monitor just like the pros do.

Yeah didn't think so.

I can live without a headphone out, as long as real time audio level indicators are provided.

Does K-70 have 14-bit RAW like K3? I wonder if K-70 has the better/quieter shutter mechanism like the K-3 too...

That's friggen awesome. That was one of the original points of difference of the K-30 against the K-5, so it's pretty cool that they included this. And from a Sony (?) sensor, with all their debacle around RAW quality levels.

14 bit AD in a medium priced APS-C camera, I wonder if that leads the way for 16 bit in coming top models. The new Sony FF 645 sensor is the first I have have noticed have that. How large must pixels be to make sense of 16 bit?

What is the new accelerator engine they claim to have added, that supposedly reduces noise? Is that just for JPEG processing?

Features2 | PENTAX K-70 | RICOH IMAGING

Also, it appears that they have added a new "flat" picture profile - for video perhaps? If so, it looks like they're serious

Further - it looks like they've pre-programed the three user modes.

Anybody know what is so different with the remote that old (aftermarket) versions won't do the job and they had to release a brandnew remote just for the K-70?

Are color options usually announced with the camera? I thought that's how they did it in the past, but I can't say for sure.
