Are color options usually announced with the camera? I thought that's how they did it in the past, but I can't say for sure.
Their announcement seems to say there will be two choices: black and silver/black.

I think it varies. Sometimes they add more color options at a later date - they did that with the K-01 (blue), K-3 (silver and gun metal) and I think the K-S1 (a whole new series of choices)...

Yes, there's a new cable remote specifically made for cameras using the microphone port as cable release port (and incompatible with the other camera, which are using a dedicated cable release port).

Imaging Resource website on the K-70 (my bold emphasis):

"The K-70 uses a brand-new cable-switch for remote shutter release

Speaking of optional accessories, there's a brand-new one being offered alongside the Pentax K-70. The CS-310 Cable Switch is the only wired cable release compatible with this camera, and it connects using the built-in microphone jack on the left side of the camera body. It has a one meter-long cable, and offers an alternative to using an infrared remote control or capturing via Wi-Fi from your smartphone.

I'm wondering whether the new remote can be adapted to work with my DIY K30 wildlife triggers (pressure pad, beam break and PIR) . If not, I guess it might be possible to hack a cheap IR but that seems like an awful bodge.

Clifton have the CS-310 listed at a mere £44! No picture though to help determine whether it's an active or passive device.

If those are the only choices, then there are going to be legions of stormtroopers who will be disappointed.

Haven't seen any reference to the dreaded movie SR anywhere in the release documentation. They are normally so proud of it.

Fingers crossed they've finally re addressed mechanical SR?

From the movie section of the Japanese website:

Movie recording
Many creative ways to enjoy high-quality movies

By taking full advantage of lens interchangeability — one of an SLR camera’s greatest strengths — the PENTAX K-70 captures high-resolution Full HD movie clips. Because you can set the desired aperture, you can flexibly use creative shooting techniques, such as blurring the background with a shallow depth of field, or creating a work of art similar to a theatrical film by capturing a movie at a rate of 24 frames per second, the same frame rate as filming.
During movie recording, you can also use the Continuous AF (AF-C) mode* to keep accurate focus on a moving subject, or take advantage of a new aperture control function** to automatically assure the proper exposure level even when faced with fluctuating lighting conditions. It even provides a host of user-friendly tools, such as a digital SR (Shake Reduction) mechanism, digital filters and stereo sound recording using a built-in microphone.

Ha! I suspect that the K-#0 line will be conservative SLRs while the KS-# will be more colorful.

Somewhat cryptically, Ricoh says it will announce availability at the beginning of July.
I haven't seen anything about the number of on-sensor AF points.
