So no attempt at AF with screw focus lenses. Assume that's a noise thing.

And digital stabilisation. Hmmm. They just don't learn.

There is a lot of talk about this being a video orientated camera, but all I'm really seeing is AF with some lenses during video. Other than say a mic in jack, I'm not seeing anything else different at all in video terms.

Yeah, especially since it now has a mic input, which should make the SR noise a non-issue. I guess someone could always use the Sigma 17-70mm OS and benefit from the lens stabilization, but then you would not have AF available in video.

They claim better video quality, i think, so let's wait for some reviews. That's the important part after all.

Yep, still happy to be shown otherwise.

Just need someone to get their hands on one and see what options are in the video menu.
Maybe there is a new **** quality option in there now

I only say the comments above based on the specs release that makes a point of saying 60i at 1080 and 60P at 720. It's 2016, nothing should have an interlaced video option anymore, that's a total marketing cop out.

For the speculators out there:

The K-70 is to the K-3 as the K-30 was to the K-5. The lower model has a few newer features that were developed during the former flagship's product cycle.

Official specs says about AF-C in video mode
So any lens with DC or PLM. Makes sense!

they got to be kidding, DR not DR2, so it is same sensor dust removal as in K30, as good as no DR at all. Luckily K70 is featured with many high class specs typically found in upper level cams by competition. Intriguing K70. wonder what else Pentax is working on? Would be great if they made a K3 successor and it would feature specs that I need for upgrading. Anyway, good job Ricoh Pentax, happy to see active and improving developments.

I see there is an update for K3ll & K-1 to use the new lenses that are coming out with the K-70. Will the K-70 still be able to shoot old lenses, including M42 lens?

Just not suitable for auto focus during video mode is all.

But then most older lenses are manual focus anyway.

Maybe the K-1ii will inherit a few of these features?

Exactly.

The K-30 had more robust features over the K-5 II at the time it was released. It wasn't until the K-3 was released that we saw some of those features over there.. which tells me the K-3 II successor is going to be something nice!

Seems I finally have a new prospect for a backup/main-for-video body

Anyone understand why the cable release jack is not compatible with existing cable releases? I'd hate to have to throw my RF interval trigger away.
