Will it work on a K-3 (and with that design, put a scratch on the K-1)?

Is there a reason that the existing data pin would not be sufficient to communicate the needed aperture settings? I really think a firmware change would be sufficient if they can use the data pin for this.

You might need a specific hardware in the body to control and command the electromagnetic aperture actuator.

Older Nikon cameras can't work with the so-called 'E' lenses whereas the pins in the F mount haven't changed.

What does this part mean?

Is this not talking about firmware for aperture control ?

I think what it says is:

Compatible bodies are the K-70, K-1, K-3ii, K-S2 and K-S1. Those bodies other than the K-70 require a firmware upgrade. On incompatible bodies the aperture will not work.

Already made good translation above...I create the post with translation too long...

Compatible models are K-70、K-1、K-3 II、K-S2、K-S1
They need firmware update except K-70.
The incompatible models can't operate aperture.

Thanks so no dual mechanical / electronic coupling but a firmware update for the current bodies. They were waiting to get rid of the old bodies to push the electronic aperture control and it's done with the K-70.

So why not the K-3? This is probably related to the processor. K3 and K3 II share the Prime III the others the prime M II and the K1 has the prime IV.

not find it very interesting the electromagnetic diaphragm, we will have another piece on the lens and less one in the body of the camera, to posiveis fail the lens is unused, since the engine that drives the diaphragm. In future FF lenses probably will not have the longevity of deponiveis lenses hj as the FA, F, ETC.
If over the years the engine is updated, these lenses when they have problems become a dead weight.

Unlike the tireless lenses LIMITED, FA and F.

So, it won't work on the K3?

I didn't see KAF 4
Digital Camera Info have added two lines to their report:

- First K-mount lens to adopt an electromagnetic diaphragm (KAF4 mount)
- Will work with K-70, K-1, K-3 II, K-S2, K-S1. Cameras other than K-70 will need a firmware update. Non-compliant [=other] cameras won't stop down the aperture.
