If they had put a top LCD display on this thing, I'd probably be looking at my K-5II replacement, 2 years in advance. But they didn't. This camera seems like an awesome way to modernize the K-S2 and K-50 at once. Curious what Ricoh does with Pentax next; not very excited about that 55-300 RE, but maybe there's still some gas in the tank for a killer prime or two before the year is up.
I wasn't expecting a top LCD on this particular camera, but that is the sticking point for me too.. I'll stay with the higher end bodies just for that feature.

That said.. the K-1 produces such clean output, it is going to be difficult to resist.

Well, if you'd read me on the other K-70 threads, you'd know I'm actually reasonably bullish on this camera. 24MP with pixel-shift and 14-bit raw is more than I expected. But skimping out on composition adjustment when the K-50 had it is indeed a bummer. As is SAFOX X - when was that AF module introduced? 2012, right? Perhaps these are not show-stoppers for me, but at least head scratchers.

BTW, no word on the rating of the shutter?

It would have been nice if the first comments had not been so negative, perhaps mentioning some pluses before going straight to the negatives.

{please excuse me for being so negative about negatives}

No wireless flash control ? Well, it's a no go for me... Unless Pentax gives us a way to wirelessly control their flash without having to buy a 360 just to be used as a controler...
Where did the specs say that? Adorama's first look page says specifically: "Off-camera wireless flash sync is available."

No composition adjustment (like K-S2, but unlike K-50) another small bummer.
Actually, to follow-up on myself, according to the PF spec page, composition adjustment is there!

Yes, it is available, but with an external flash. Look at the * on the detailed spec sheet on the PF review page. So, if you want to trigger your flashes wirelessly from the popup, as you would with a K-50 or K-3, you need to buy an additional flash to be used as a trigger. And the cheapest that can do the job is the 360, which is kind of expensive if to be used as a flash trigger...

Isn't the K-50 and K-3 implementations optical? If so you'd be way better off with a radio trigger instead anyways.. wouldn't need line of sight as you do with optical.

I see "no"for composition adjustment.

It is under lens mount.

Only one question comes to mind for me: How cheap am I going to have to sell my beloved Forest green K-S2 for?
