Why sell it? I've always kept my previous primary camera {if it still works} to back up my new primary camera. Otherwise you're lost if something goes wrong.
I have a pile of Pentax bodies, lol- including a K-3.

I notice that there are a number of different focussing screens available (std + 3 others) according the K-70 page. Interesting....

I was thinking about the K-70 but the only difference from my K-S2 is the FPS 6.0 which isn't much from 5.6 of K-S2 and the video, I'm probably going to purchase the soon-to-be discontinued K-3 instead, my K-5IIs needs a third sibling.

The new mount, the resolution (24 vs 20 MP) and the inclusion of Pixel Shift are some other differences. Of course, if those don't matter to you, I see your point.

I have the K-S1 and I was looking at a bargain (used) K-3 body, now I'm not so sure. I wouldn't sell my K-S1, just would add another body. At ~699€ as a starter (preorder) price in Europe for a new K-70, and used K-3 basically not being sold under 600€ (ebay) it's very close to each other as far as price is considered. I'm absolutely not interested in video performance, I'm rather puzzled with that "pixel shift" feature... It came with K-3II but that one is way beyond my capabilities price-wise... Would be stupid to ask for collective wisdom here as I'm the one who has to decide and live with the consequences ... However, I'm going to ask something, what would you pick from two: more frames per second or ultra-high resolution capability? I know, paying a bit more for K-3II would bring both in a single package, but that's already a minimum of 800€ or something like it... Fortunately, (or unfortunately) I will not be able to anything about it before Christmas time... Just curious...

I was going to consider this K70 for video making because it has a display that can be turned 180 degree, but same question about battery life, because video is rather power hungry (live view on) and the K70 battery is rather small. But, I remember that you Ron made a video about using a field monitor mounted on the flash hotshoe, so I could use a field monitor on the K1 for video making and essentially focusing with remote control. Then I don't need this K70.
About that LV, my K-1 is way better that K-3 was in battery life in this case, and K-3 is way better than K-7, which did not last long. So I'd say that K-70 users will be fine. I have been shooting(because of that tilting screen) lot in LV with K-1 and it just goes on W/O any problem, even when battery is reaching it's last bar. This is where my K-7 and also K-3 would say that no power.

And it looks like black & silver will be the only options anywhere. The sentence before the picture of all the color variations basically says that the era of custom color variations have come to an end. =(

I love my K-S2 and also my K-3. The K-70 has a lot over the K-S2- pixel shift, 14 bit RAW, 24MP sensor from K-3, better focusing in video, and many more things. I love that it has a remote shutter release jack. It's like a supercharged K-S2... I'll take one.

When I sold my K-30 and purchased a K-5ii's I somehow regretted because I really want the flip screen and WiFi of the K-S2 and the battery compatibility, now with the K-70 almost around, my wish is that the Forest Green version is possible.

A passive remote so it should be possible to wire up DIY triggers without any major problems. I'm very tempted to pre-order but common sense says wait for the hands-on reviews.

It seems to me the color options were for the K-x, and that the K-70 will be offered in 2 color versions all over the world.
Yaotomi is talking about Pentax giving up on multiple colors... probably

From what I see, the connector is different - perhaps that's the only difference between the old and new remotes?

Yes, it is available, but with an external flash. Look at the * on the detailed spec sheet on the PF review page. So, if you want to trigger your flashes wirelessly from the popup, as you would with a K-50 or K-3, you need to buy an additional flash to be used as a trigger. And the cheapest that can do the job is the 360, which is kind of expensive if to be used as a flash trigger...
Indeed, and the leaked operating manual of K-70 confirms that it cannot wireless trigger flashes with its popup flash.
There is a pattern here: all recent SLR bodies until 2013 has a wireless mode, but starting in 2014 no Pentax body kept this functionality, either because of the lack of popup flash (645Z, K-3II and K-1) or because they could not (K-S1, K-S2, K-70). And, starting in 2015 (which means except the K-S1 and 645Z), they all have builtin WiFi.
I hope that a firmware update could enable to use the WiFi chipset and antenna to enable radio trigger of external flashes.
