Any information on who is the sensor manufacturer and if it has been tested yet?
This looks like a worthy successor to my beloved K-30.
Most likely a similar sensor to the one in the Sony A6000 Sony A6000 : Tests and Reviews - DxOMark

Pentax should be able to tweak a point or two more out of the sensor

Does it have DOF?
DOF is a lens characteristic. It's aps-c so plenty of DOF to play with with the right lenses.

My guess is he was referring to a DOF preview button or lever.

How I wish this camera has a battery grip accessory. I'm crazy about grips.
I've bought battery grips for THREE different Pentax DSLR bodies. I just recently gave away the second new-looking grip, along with my K-5, to a good friend's daughter who is a budding photographer and is pretty much 'heir' to all my older camera gear. I've never been able to use the grip for more than a few outings because the weight and increased bulk start to be a pain. It's pretty easy to change the battery after all... I can understand grips if one is using a monster lens like a Bigma hand-held. So it really doesn't bother me that this body doesn't have one. That said, I'll no doubt buy a grip for the K-1, when I acquire one.

I've always been a sucker for grips. I just love having them on my camera. It gives the camera a professional mean look. More like a macho thing.

Odd that we're now halfway through July and no update on availability.

Is there any DEEP description of new HYBRID AF of K-70.

There are description DUAL PIXEL AF and HYBRID AF system from Canon, but it's hard to find any deep information about Pentax system.

I had a grip for my Canon Rebel, but I stopped using it long before the Rebel died and I switched to Pentax.
It turns out that I hate grips.
It turns out that I like small cameras.

Thanks a lot. It could be better if Ricoh puts any explanation and technical data for camera in review.

It's just patent, we don't know if it's implemented or not. But I hope this system is in K-70.

It could just be the Sony sensor; I don't think Ricoh had to implement a different solution.

A6000 has 25 contrast-detect and 179 phase-detect points. Does it mean that K-70 has the same system?

How many contrast-detect points and phase-detect points does K-70's AF system have?
What is EV range?

It's probably the same sensor. But implementation might be different.

If it's the same sensor - which IMO is likely - the implementation is indeed different. The K-70 is using in LV 35 AF areas instead of 25 like the Sony.
