I wonder if this "could be" a step up from the K3 (which I already acquired recently) AND, because it is the 24 PM sensor, if the increased ISO limits also mean that it is noise handling better than the K3.
Other than that, I couldn't care or less with the video capabilities and the lack of a top LCD, I am rather amazed with this new camera.
For sure a great "entry level" piece !

We will see what sensor they took, but this one as on board PDAF, so this is not the K3 or K3-II sensor for sure.

Interesting.
This could be an improvement over the K3 sensor ....maybe?
I mean, In terms of high ISO "handling".

The A6000's sensor has hybrid AF, which I believe to be the method of the future, so it easily could be that sensor, or at least a variant of it.

the most notable feature on the a6000 is its updated Hybrid AF system. Where the NEX-6 had 99 phase-detect points covering approximately 50% of the sensor, the a6000 has 179, with 92% coverage - by far the most comprehensive of any contemporary camera.

Sony Alpha 6000 and Alpha 6300 both have 24 Mpix sensors with on-sensor phase-detection sensels (179 and 425 AF points respectively).
