Pentax? Are you listening?
Pentax' brochures have always been fairly bad. I remember seeing print brochures full of errors (about filter size, QS,..). The colours that label optical elements (like ED) are applied inconsistently and vary between publications. So I am not surprised the lens roadmap is inconsistent, as well. Its almost as if the person putting it together is not a photographer, but a marketing person.
Anyway, not really much news from this chart. Good that things keep moving, but I hope there will be some surprises

It's not as if an APS version would be smaller...
The wider part? The 150-450 is excellent, I wouldn't want a worse (even slightly) lens to get it down to 80mm...
I have read some feedback that some DFA aren't as fast on the k-3/II. Also, I would like something a little lighter. I hope it would be a little bigger than the 55-300. Like I said I'm dreaming out loud.

I don't find it surprising. The new lens only works with a small subset of Pentax cameras for now.
I think I read that the new one would replace the old one. Good to see that's probably not the case.

The optical quality and f/stop range are more important to lens size than the sensor size for the same focal length. I would not expect that size and weight in a lens with more than 2x longer optical reach and a zoom range of 10x rather than 6x. Look to the 50-500 for an idea of what to expect from a 10x zoom and compare to say the 150-500 for size and f/stop. Note that these start at f/4.5 not f/3.5...

Pentax now really does have a lot of lenses, don't they? I'm counting 40. Although this is cheating a bit, with the rebadged Tamrons and 40Ltd/40XS, it's still good to see.

and sorry not to pay attention that only the first page was June 2016. I thought it is the same road map.

As far as the DA* lenses being updated I would think Pentax would be looking for synergy across the DA and DFA formats.

What I mean is that Pentax has limited resources so IMO it would make sense for them to design * lenses that work well on both DA and DFA where possible, particularly primes. For example, if the DA* 300 is updated I would expect it to be as an official DFA optic (yes, it's listed as FF compatible anyway). Similarly something like the 55mm I would think would become a DFA officially.

The DA* 50-135 is a lens I wouldn't want replaced with a full frame version. The purpose of that lens is to be a 70-200 equivalent. The DA* 300 on the other hand makes sense to be updated as a DFA.

OK, it could be worse, they could drop one more lens.

Also, they update fluently, which is rather a good sign.

I would like to see an update of it though.. with the HD coatings and a faster motor. If they can somehow make it sharper at f/2.8 that'd be super too

OTOH the 50-135 f/2.8 on FF is equiv to around 70-200 f/4 right? A FF 70-200 f/4 WOULD be nice imo.
