Pentax K-70 to be released on july 22

The Pentax K-70 DSLR camera will start shipping in Japan on July 22th.
PENTAX K-70 / ??????? / ?? | RICOH IMAGING
For the US Amazon lists the release date as July 15th.

$650 is the normal price. they just add in the RSVP to make it seems like a "discount" to make people think they're "saving". cheap tricks.

Great to see that the K-70 is shipping on time, and not affected by the earthquake related delays. Perhaps Ricoh isn't really last in line for Sony sensors after all.

The in-store date for the new 55-300 is also announced for August 5, by the way.

K70 original plan is June.28

The list price is $649. Clever move by Amazon right there!

I'm not sure I believe the 7/15 estimate, but it's good to see that it's coming soon in Japan.

It would be nice to know the bit rate for video.

Better video AF is one thing but the low bit rate is more important I think

The shipping dates for for the K-70 have been delayed in the USA, too, based on BH and Adorama. They are ranging from about July 22-29 depending on body or kit and store. So it appears Japan was ahead of posting the new shipment dates. This may lead me to wait for the next announcements in fall.

Maybe those who will buy this camera can give us immediate feedback. I might get one for my daughter if she can comply with our deal sometime March 2017.

RIAC hasn't made an official announcement about availability yet, so I don't think there's any 'delay' to speak of. The press release said that an announcement about availability would be made this month, but not specifically that the camera would become available in July.

That said, it would be great to start testing the K-70!

Despite the fact that Pentax cameras are made here, I haven't seen any posters of the KS2 or the K-3II when they were released. We only have one authorized dealer for Pentax and the dealer has a lot of stores throughout the country. I don't think I'll see a K-70 promotion here. Sad, Pentax promos here isn't that great.
