In fac theses 2 things look quite likely actually.

We are not there yet. But we do already have "interresting" things. For example there some Human Resources startup that scan the whole web and social networks and summarise the statistics they get: age/sex/race/political orientation/hobbies/character to help decide if he will be a good employee or not...

As of google they scan all your mails, the files on your cloud drive. They can now recognise what is on the photos you share. They typically know all the time where you are as long as your phone is connected, even when gps is off using GPRS triangulization so they can display to you things like "if you go home right, now you'll take 23 minutes". They have you search history, know the forums and page you visit each time there an ad displayed on it and so on.

But that for our own good so we are safe isn't it?

Ricoh could do the smart thing and join E-mount gang. Current Pentax glass works fine with well-made adapter. It would pull customers to Pentax from Sony camp due to vastly better ergonomics and battery life right now provided that K-1 bodyform is kept for grip and size. But should Sony interfere with A9, with right price of course, things could get ugly.

Hello,

That is assuming that the Pentax are at a stand point except the points mentioned by you. Which let' s be frank, they are not.
Pentax will gain more customers if the innovate (pixel shift is innovation for absolute stills- big wow) , heck even if they drag their sluggish tech to current high end standards.

If they can address the issue of overheating and the faster battery consumption then maybe MILC is the future.
The K-01 solved both those issues very nicely, with its big aluminum body, but I'm not too sure about that "future" part!

In a way I think that the k-01 was sort of in the right track. But again, I'm not a technical guy so maybe they had a dead end in making the AF faster with the current lens mount. But if they can make the AF much faster, probably about 90% of the speed of the d7200 (Now I'm thinking out loud again), maybe it will work. Plus a body with the size of the ks1 but should be better looking.

MILC battery consumption is easily solved by bringing size back to usable dimensions and thus having more room for larger battery. If I compare live view usage of K-1 to A7R2, K-1 lasts about ~50% longer thanks to larger battery capacity. It is a weird concept that MILC should equal small.

That is no surprise. In line with the same -25 % sales that Ricoh-Imaging had. Remember, quake and yen, all the same for many camera makers (except Canon).

What "-25% sales that Ricoh-Imaging had"? They don't publish sales figures for cameras.

Ron, are you upset that the report actually says:

"Sales in the [Ricoh] Other segment increased by 6.0% as compared to the previous corresponding period, to ¥56.9 billion due to the increase in income and profit in the Leasing business and Camera business. As a result, operating profit in the Other segment increased by 104.0% as compared to the previous corresponding period, to ¥2.6 billion."?

Lying from you is so unfortunate. Please don't make it a habit, even though you obviously hate Pentax and Pentaxians. :-)

We enjoy the cameras we bought and the pictures we make ... from your posts, you seem to do neither, which is a shame for you as an individual.

Take a deep breath, have an Amstel or whatever, and let your bitterness go, for your own sake, not ours.

Compare it to the previous quarter instead of one year ago and things look different.
