I don't see your point: "Couldn't" is simply a contraction of "could not" so I don't (do not) understand your point!
I edited it, it was "I could care less"... Sorry to confuse people. Fun discussion anyway.
I prefer the I couldn't give a rat's a$$ about jpg's.
Maybe we can discuss this idiom or colloquial metaphor......

Is this a log scale?

Postulate: It is not possible to state that one cares zero and can therefore not care less. The fact of its mention proves some residual care, below which must exist a theoretical state of care at an even lower, but non-zero level.

i could not give a rats ass about jpegs

this could stipulate that you have no rats ass on your person, therefore you could not give it with regards to jpegs

or

that in the case that you possess a rats ass on your person, you physically could not give it, to whom or what ever, with relation to the topic of jpegs.

Though in other english speaking countries it is not related to anyone's behind at all, as an ass is merely, and only, a donkey-like animal, when in fact one's bottom is referred to as an arse.

So when we say "rat's ass" we're really referring to a donkey that's owned by a rodent?

Dude, please, PLEASE, write a book with your hilarious definitions of common expression. I'll pay you big bucks. Hey, do a top 50 or something. Good laugh!

Sorry though speed means little to me personally, I thought some might find this funny. (You know who you are )
Just for comparison K20D:
Continuous Hi: 3 fps, up to 38 Best JPEG frames, 14 images RAW, 16 DNG*
• Continuous Lo: 2.3 fps, JPEG (Best) until card is full
• Burst mode: 21 fps 1.6MB JPEG, 115 frames*
Ok, two big flaws in this comparison. Well, actually you can compare anything you like, say a Pentax and a laptop. Stupid, but your right. Heck, I did it last semester when choosing which to buy -- limited budget. Anyway, as previously stated, the Canon 1000D and the Pentax K20D are not in the same league. Something else people seem to forget is that the Pentax is faster at processing -- I highly doubt the Canon 1000D could process the K20D's 10MB+ file sizes. Ok, true, you aren't comparing precessing speed but FPS ... in which case the Pentax wins -- duuuuh, 21 FPS!
Take care

Hi, Kunz!

Because I've owned a K100D before I am familiar with the body and ergonomics and IMO K200D it's the most complete camera it it's price bracket. The only drawback it's the very small buffer for jpegs.

Radu
Hi!
Well, I had an *istDS... slightly bigger buffer, but slow write speed - and for me that's more important than the buffer, in most cases.
The 1000D seems slow as hell; I'm not sure about the K200D.
Btw: if you're from Bucharest, we should drink a beer one of these days.
