Japanese never lie. That would be shameful.
They never say no. That would be impolite.
They don't say, "Yes." That would be a matter of honor to fulfill.
They say 'Q will continue. Q-S1 is a current camera.' True statement, but not an answer to the question.
Westerners rarely hear what Japanese say.
You mean, saying neither yes or no composes no lying? Great to hear that: let's just burn the entire Greek philosophy section in libraries.
And you mean, the Olympus case across the board was a hoax?
And Sony was always truthful? And Japanese companies are in stardom of sainthood?
Yeah. Indeed, this is why I love to visit Pentax Forums.

I don't know how politicians talk in Australia. Those of us who have lived in the U.S. for several election cycles have become very cynical about answers which could be interpreted the way the user wants without answering the original question. My immediate reaction was

In other words, they will continue to produce them as long as we continue to buy them??
We don't know whether they have any intention of developing anything new, or whether their intention is to simply milk current inventory, and perhaps an extra run slipped in when the factory doesn't have anything else to do, for whatever cash they can get; nearly two years ago I bought my Q-7 because I had decided I could arrange for it to meet a particular need of mine, but someone who is deliberating the "invest in Q-S1" question, believing that currently the Q-S1 is the best solution for him, still has no idea whether purchasing a "Q" would be an investment into the future as the "Q" line grows, or simply a purchase that will provide service as long as the equipment works or until something better comes from some other company, which ever comes first.

These execs often may not be taking any pictures themselves, but they have data on Ricoh and their rivals you and I have no access to. :-)
no insults please
Great thread beholder3!

Would this post from Mistral75 be substantial enough to include here? It implies we could see a new non-K-mount body before summer, and he has contacts at Ricoh France/Europe.

I originally thought that might mean a new 645, but combined with what asahi man said about the next two DSLRs being K-mount (the KP was the first of those two), and no second full-frame body anytime soon, and the Q being apparently dead...??
